Questions & Answers

Is this large enough to fit an American Girl doll that is 18 inches tall?

Hi Paul! Dolls up to 20" tall can sit in this lovely Doll High Chair. I hope it fits your doll "just right"!

Is this big enough for a 12" Corolle doll?

Yes, it is suitable for a wide range of dolls.

Is it difficult for small children to take the tray off and put it back on correctly because it does not lift up and down?

When our granddaughter was young, her mother took care of the tray. The main thing we noticed was that the chair didn't really stand up under the pressure of being pushed over. The behavior of small children who are attempting to climb up is called "climbing." It has to be for gentlemen of a certain age.

The tray is sturdy and attractive, and here's how to remove it with ease
3/5

Although I wouldn't call myself a "doll high chair expert," as the father of a young daughter and someone who meticulously researches every purchase, I've discovered that most doll high chairs fall into one of two categories: The first are the inexpensive ones, which are usually made of thin plastic or balsa wood, though they could just as easily be made of tissue paper. I always feel like I'm going to break these chairs if I stare at them long enough, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hold up to my daughter's "aggressive" doll play. The only positive aspect of these chairs is their low price, but that's no consolation when the chair breaks after only ten minutes of use. Second, there are more sturdy chairs made of more solid wood that can withstand some boisterous play by multiple toddlers while also tending to the needs of the doll sitting in it. You'll pay a little more for one of these chairs (the sky's the limit), but it'll last long after its owners have grown out of their doll phase. br>br>This chair belongs to the latter category. Put it together, then take a step back and admire it because it'll be around for a long time. It's not perfect, but it's solid, attractive, and functional. There are a few things that irritate me: 1) The tray isn't adjustable, but it can be removed. It slides into grooved tracks in each arm of the chair, and a small "hump" in the track holds the tray in place until you remove it consciously. The issue is that the tray does not slide smoothly in its slot; In fact, it frequently becomes stuck and is difficult to move into and out of. Fortunately, you shouldn't have to remove it very often, but it can be frustrating trying to replace it once you've removed it. 2) Once you've sat the dolls in the chair, there's nothing to keep them in place. This is especially true of dolls on a smaller scale than the chair - Given the size of this chair, that could be quite a few dolls. Because there is no peg or anything in the front center to straddle the doll's legs around, dolls tend to slide downward in the seat. In the end, this chair causes a lot of doll posture problems. br>br>3) This is a big chair - The size is enormous. The tallest doll in our daughter's collection is 16", and she is too short to fit into the chair. We used a towel as a "booster seat," which helped, but the scale is probably best achieved with at least a 20" tall doll. (This surprises me, given Melissa's background. ) Doug also makes a crib to match this chair, but a 20" doll would be too big for it. It's almost as if the crib and high chair were designed for dolls of different sizes. ) The doll in the photo is 16" tall, so she's almost too short for the chair. br>br>Here's a hint to help you with the tray: The tray will slide in and out much more easily if you rub a candle (a votive or something) along the inside of the tray tracks (in the arms of the chair) and also on the section of the tray that fits into those tracks. br>br>To summarize, this is a sturdy, attractive doll chair that can withstand some abuse if used with the appropriate size (i. e. LARGE) doll, it should provide many happy hours of play, especially if the tray tracks are lubricated!.

This item is not suitable for Bitty Baby
3/5

Like all Melissa and Doug products, it's well-made, but it's not suitable for a small child. The tray is not an over-the-head type, but rather slides, which is inconvenient for a two-year-old. It is very easy to remove. The Bitty Baby will be unable to use it. The seat is extremely wide and deep, and Bitty Baby simply falls to the side. Bitty Babies don't sit well unless they're secured, and because the tray is so far away from the back of the seat, there's nothing to keep the doll in place. This might work better with a larger doll and an older child, but an older child might be too tall. I would have returned it if it didn't need to be assembled, but I wasn't about to disassemble it after spending so much time putting it together, especially since I needed it the next day. It would have been easier if there had been a waste strap or a strap connecting the tray and the seat.

It's attractive, but it's a little scuffed
4/5

Melissa and Doug are one of my favorite brands of toys. The products' quality is something I value. I'm not sure if it's because I ordered it from Amazon rather than Melissa and Doug directly, but the box was battered. The wood had a few blemishes, but nothing that prevented it from being used. It's aggravating, but the truth is that the scuffs will continue to appear. br>br>It's also smaller than I anticipated. I should have taken a closer look at the measurements. It's still perfect for my 4-year-old and far more durable than the flimsy metal one we were using previously.

NOT MADE OF SOLID WOOD - After a few months of use, the item became broken
3/5

This isn't what I was expecting from Melissa and Doug. The paint job left me wanting more. I didn't think it was very good, but I wanted to give it to my daughter as a birthday present. She is completely oblivious to the shoddy paint job. I could see where the wood had been filled, and the paint wasn't thick enough to hide it. At the very least, I thought it was of the high quality that I've come to expect from Melissa. Doug. It completely broke down after a few months, and it was all press-related. It's not even solid wood, it's just a board. It's utter nonsense! Because of their reputation, I feel as if I was duped. This is not a product I would recommend!.

The doll highchair is adorable
5/5

I like this doll highchair, but the tray had to be permanently attached in order for it to stay in place. It would fall off every time my little granddaughter sat in the chair with her doll. My husband was tasked with permanently affixing it.

A GIFT FOR THE GREAT GRAND DAUGTER
5/5

Melissa and Doug are one of my favorite brands of toys. I purchased a cradle, high chair, stroller, 12 inch doll, and doll clothes. They're all so adorable; I adore them, and my 2-year-old great-granddaughter did, too! Each piece is well-made and has adorable details. The doll is ideal for a young child. When you pick her up and put her down, she has a cloth body with hard arms and legs, and her eyes open and close.

There are two holes that are missing
3/5

It's a nice doll highchair, and I'm sure my niece will enjoy it, but as I was putting it together, I discovered that two of the pre-assembled pieces were missing. There aren't any drilled holes. They're also sunken, so I'll have to go get the bit that will make them sunken in addition to drilling them. I'm just glad I'm doing it ahead of time so that I can fix it and give the gift on time.

Highchair is of poor quality
3/5

Melissa and Doug are known for their high-quality products. Although it is a costly item, it will last a long time - So this high chair caught me off guard. on the reverse - The opening is too small for the two pegs to fit through. It's a little strange, to say the least - AFTER MANY THOUSANDS OF ATTEMPTS I finally cut them off with a saw - The same thing has been said by a number of people - M& Please, G, resolve your issue- I'll send you some photos.
