The base is 1/4" thick, but the body flares up from there, making the duck's bottom approx. 1/2 x 1/2

What kind of material are these? Do they have a chance of surviving?

I originally purchased these to use in my panoramic Easter eggs. They're made of porcelain, and they don't float, I'm afraid.
