Selected User Reviews For Looney Labs Firefly Fluxx Upgrade Pack, Multicolor
There are only a few cards, two of which are nearly identical to the originals. Fluxx games are a big hit with our family. We've tried a few different varieties, and each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The Firefly set was purchased because the children (and one parent) are huge fans of the show. The base Firefly set, as well as the expansion pack, are both a huge letdown. They appear to have been put together haphazardly in order to take advantage of fans. It seems like they should have enlisted the help of people who were more familiar with the series and plots to design the interactions between the cards. This expansion pack, in particular, adds very little to the core deck. Rather, go with StarFluxx. That game has every feature that Firefly Fluxx lacks.
So there are only a few cards in this pack. There are two new keepers, as well as some goals that incorporate them with the others and the same two keepers from the base pack with a new ability. One of the keepers mentions new cards that weren't in the pack, but they haven't been released yet, according to what I've found online. This upgrade pack appears to have been released around the beginning of August 2018. I gave it four stars because I'm disappointed that the cards are a slightly different color from the side than the old style, which makes it difficult to tell where the upgrade pack cards are when they're mixed in with the rest of the deck.
So, when I was playing Fluxx, I discovered that there were expansion packs available. I was skeptical at first, but after taking a quick look and then giving the expansion a try in Firefly Fluxx, it really brings on the laughs, both with what's already in the deck and with the new cards. If you get the main deck, it's worthwhile to get this. However, because the expansion has "upgraded features" for the Reavers and Hands Of Blue creepers, it is recommended that you remove them from the original deck. Having multiple copies of these creepers is a bit much. This is a book that you should definitely read.
With a few cards, it's an expensive and mostly cosmetic upgrade. Does nothing to address the Firefly FLUXX game's lackluster gameplay, which stems from the game's low-effort design philosophy.
Due to a lack of content in the original game, I hoped that this expansion pack would help fill in the gaps (e. g. Limits for keepers) but it only added to the gaps. 2 keepers, 6 goals, and 2 "fixed" creepers (worst cards in my opinion; I won't be using them). The money spent was not well spent.
A fun couple of cards to add to your firefly flux deck. However, I wish there were more for the price!.
What's not to love about Firefly Fluxx? It's Firefly, it's Fluxx, and it adds to the base game of Firefly Fluxx.
You're here because you're a fan of Firefly, after all. You enjoy the Fluxx games and Firefly, and now you can add Saffron and Early, two fantastic characters, to the game for only $5. It was well worth the money!.
