Because they're kept as a rolled mat, there's no creasing.

What is the maximum size of the mat it can accommodate? Because the packing box is 17", it will not hold a 24x24 mat in the last question. ?

I had no trouble fitting Ultrapro 2414 mats into this tube.

This is a much better deal than the solo tubes

They hold two mats, so you only need one of these if you and another person want to duel. Alternatively, if you have a large number of mats to store, as I do, they are flat on top and bottom, making them easy to stack. Fantastic product!.
