They have the appearance and feel that have been described. Solid. I thought they'd fit a standard Razor kick scooter (the standard size wheels are 98mm), but they're a little too big. Too bad. However, they are attractive wheels, and if they had fit, they would have been ideal; I'll be returning them, but not because of any defects in the product.
I would advise anyone looking for an upgrade to get these because the price is unbeatable.
The front shock models have a metal bar that rubs against the steering wheel. I figured it was a millimeter or two too large and would wear down over time, but I didn't feel like taking them off and returning them after mounting them. They'll also stiffen up the ride. Those wheels, however, are very nice.
The barrings, however, should not be used. Paul, my son, expresses his thoughts as follows: The wheels are in excellent condition. They look great and are a good fit. This is a significant improvement over the scooter's original plastic wheels. But that's just the way the wheels are set up. The bearings aren't ABEC 9s by any means. In fact, they've already started to fail and make noise after only a few weeks, so for this price, I'd recommend getting the wheels and matching bearings.
They are far superior to my expectations. For both wheels, the bearings are perfectly smooth. Installing them was simple, and even after a few rides, they felt more solid and faster than the original wheels. I adore them because they are such a good value and a reasonable price.
On my son's scooter, these are ideal. He has a "trick" scooter, and his old wheels had become disfigured, resulting in a bumpy ride; these replacement wheels were a perfect fit, and the ride is now smooth and enjoyable.
However, because the aluminum inner part is stiff, it has a "chattery" feel on all but the smoothest of surfaces. These would be perfect for a skatepark. However, it is not suitable for a stroll around the neighborhood with my children.
This is a fantastic deal; the wheels are beautiful and functional.
