Questions & Answers
My kids adore these cups, which they can use in the bath or to play with outside of it. Kids seem to enjoy even the most basic of toys. These are an excellent investment.
Christine, the Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers Stacking and Straining Cups Bath Toy is recommended for children aged 9 months and up.
Good morning, Diane. The Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers Stacking and Straining Cups Bath Toy is a fantastic product for children aged 9 months and up, and it's fun to link, stack, strain, and pour water with the 7 colorful bath cups.
The flow rate of the updated Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers is similar to that of the original version, but it is different. Although the function is the same, the hole designs are not.

When our youngest arrived in 2015, we thought we'd had enough of babies. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy these again because they were on sale. This little toy was exactly as I remembered it from five years ago, which I didn't mind because I'd never had any complaints before. My oldest was diagnosed with autism, and one of the most calming things for her was water play. I actually regretted getting rid of them. br>br>I decided to buy more of these so that all of my children could enjoy them. They're easy to clean and bring my older two girls a lot of joy, just like I remembered. My youngest adores them, and this is all she plays with during her bath time, just as I had hoped; the only drawback is that the caterpillar is extremely difficult to link together. My six-year-old can't even get the caterpillar to snap and then stay together, so I'm sure this is a problem for a lot of other customers. It wasn't a big deal to me, though, because my kids didn't care for it when they were caterpillars. The only reason I bring it up is because the toy is advertised in its caterpillar shape rather than demonstrating how you can stack them, store all of the pieces in one cup (they all fit nicely in the caterpillar face), or the water or sand play that these cups provide children with many hours of entertainment. Someone who bought something based on the caterpillar picture would be sorely disappointed. Again, we adore our product and have purchased it twice as a result! All that is required of everyone is that they are aware of what they are buying.
Unfortunately, my two young children (1 and 3 years old) are not fond of stackers. They aren't having much fun trying to make a caterpillar out of the cups because, as many other reviews have stated, the cups don't connect well. I also thought that watching the different sized holes and shapes in the bottom of the cups drain the water would be a lot of fun, but unfortunately, all but the two largest cups have holes that are too large, which means that the water drains as soon as you pick up the cup. br>br>I like how the cups nest together for easy and space-saving storage. They're bright and colorful, and they have the numbers 1-100 on them, so they're great for saving space and, fortunately, they're cheap. The cups have a number of seven on them, and we've used them in the bath to practice numbers and colors. There isn't much else to do with them aside from that.
My granddaughter's 2nd birthday gift included these Caterpillar Spillers and Stacking Cups, as well as a few other bathtub toys. This is the same toy that my children had, and it has been passed down through the generations of my family. They don't require batteries and don't squirt, which makes them all the more appealing. These cups are bright and colorful, as well as easy to grasp, making them an excellent toy for children. They can be stacked, which is a skill that toddlers of all ages enjoy practicing; however, none of them hold water and most of them pour too quickly, making them a favorite among toddlers who want to transfer water from one cup to the next. My little one enjoys having me attach them to each other on the tub's edge so she can pull them into the water and tear them apart; it would be great if they stayed together better and could be attached in any order, but I'd be surprised if Munchkin decided to improve this toy after all these years. br>br>I believe this toy would be more popular if it was introduced to toddlers when they were younger, rather than when they were older. For older toddlers, it might be more fun to use with outside water play. It's tough and cheap compared to other water toys. This is something I would recommend for children aged 6 to 24 months. Try TUB SOUP by Alex if you're looking for a good tub toy for a two-year-old.
We tried a few different stacking cups before settling on these. Because they have more features than most, they are the easiest for little hands to use and are still entertaining after 6 months. They have multiple uses as the child grows- Stack, nest, and click together to make a train, plus a cute caterpillar animal, holes in the bath for fun water flow, and a cool spinner on the small cup that kids can learn to blow on. Excellent for traveling- It's always in my 20-month-old's bag of easy-to-transport toys, and she adores it. It's also durable and easy to clean. There are holes in all of the cups, so there is no risk of choking, though some of the cup holes may retain water, so I only use it in the bath on rare occasions and thoroughly dry it afterwards. The clear plastic colors were also useful for learning colors and seeing how they blended together when they were overlapped.
It's also a fun way for him to learn colors, count, and match (he fills each bowl with smaller toys of the same color). It's also simple to keep them clean. To avoid mold, just wash and dry your water toys on a regular basis, as you would with any other water toy. My only complaint is that they are difficult to connect and maintain. When my son tries to pick up or move the entire "caterpillar," they keep falling off, and having to reconnect the bowls every two seconds is a pain.
You can't expect much for the price, and you won't be able to link them together to make a caterpillar. I couldn't even get them together as an adult, and they never stayed together. They're fine for stacking and nesting if that's all you want to do with them. Oh, and they all have strainer holes in the bottom, so you can't pour out of them. But straining water, sand, stones, and other materials is entertaining, and the top one includes a water wheel, which is also entertaining. You can make the wheel spin by pouring water on it. But not with any of these cups, because they can't be used to pour from! Each cup has a different pattern of strainer holes on the bottom, which can be used to stamp play dough. They're going to stay with me. For the price, they're ideal for the purpose I'll be using them for.
