Wood is used for the wheels.
After a few months, the cab on ours came off, but we glued it back on with gorilla glue, and it's been fine since. It's a simple fix that's well worth it because this is an excellent toy.

Interaction with children- Paint peeling: There's a lot of versatility and educational value here, but the paint is peeling. My youngest son has spent the most time with this toy, which he enjoys putting the shapes in the holes. At first, he required assistance (for example, when he was 18 months old, I frequently had to point to the correct hole, then he would figure out how to orient the block to fit it in). We'd give each color a name as we added it. ) He soon figured out which hole each one went in, and we kept track of how many we put in. You could also scatter the shapes around the room and have him drive the truck over to them to place them. (That was a package suggestion, and I adore Melissa and Doug's play suggestions! ) He's currently learning the names of the shapes, as well as dumping and re-assembling them. My only concern is that the paint is peeling off, and I don't want my toddler to swallow paint chips.
When I took it out of the box, he immediately began playing with it. He enjoys dumping the shapes on the floor and then reassembling them. I can see how this will aid in his learning of the shapes. The primary and secondary colors are used to create all of the shapes. White, black, and brown are also included, which is beneficial in terms of color recognition and learning. The little people who sit in the front of the truck are, I believe, his favorite feature. It's adorable how he takes them out, plays with them, and then returns them. Everything has been sanded and smoothed to perfection. I'm blown away by the quality of this toy, and I'm not easily impressed.
This was a birthday present for my one-year-old daughter. It's a well-made toy, and I'm glad I bought it. My daughter enjoys grabbing and chewing on the heads of the small people. She doesn't understand the shape sorting aspect of it yet, and she isn't particularly interested in the truck, but she enjoys the garbage collectors! I like how there are both male and female characters, as well as people with light and dark skin tones. Trucks aren't just for boys, after all.
When we got it, there was already a pencil mark on the top. The color on one side of the truck is noticeably uneven. This is Melissa's very first post. We received a Doug product that we believe requires sanding before being given to the child. I'd expect a higher level of quality for the price.
Melissa is someone I usually put my trust in. Doug's products are usually good, but this one was a huge letdown. The storage compartment cannot be secured to the truck bed in any way. When our two-year-old grandson attempted to push the truck, the box reared up and slammed into him, cutting his lip. Why have moving wheels if it wasn't designed to be used as a truck? To avoid further injury, we had to take the gift away. Regrettably, a minor design change to increase dump resistance could have avoided the injury. It was possible to play with the truck as a truck. Would have returned if the packaging hadn't been thrown out along with the toy. Trash that costs a fortune. br>Continue your search. Shape sorters with a lot more thought have been put into them. trucks!.
At our house, this is a popular toy. I like how it can be used as a truck and a shape sorter. My boys enjoy the fact that the dump truck portion of the truck allows them to transport additional items. It's simple to move around, and my boys enjoy playing with it. The shapes in the shape sorter are the perfect size for small hands. They're not so small that I'm afraid they'll choke on them, but they're not so big that they won't be able to hold them. The truck's colors and details, as well as its shapes, are flawless, and the wood is smooth, so there's no danger of splinters. My boys are having more difficulty opening the back on their own, but after a few demonstrations, they are getting the hang of it. If you have a young boy who enjoys trucks, this is a great toy to have.
This toy is a big hit with our son. He's too young to know which block goes in which hole, but he enjoys driving the truck around and chewing on the blocks. The only complaint is that the small door on the back of the truck is starting to break away after a lot of toddler abuse. We'll have to wait and see how long it lasts.
This is a great toy for teaching my son about shapes and colors. The dump truck is something that my son enjoys pushing around. My son enjoys toy cars, so having one with an educational component is ideal. This toy is also beneficial to his hand-eye coordination. The dump truck's stability isn't a major concern. The back part is a little loose, and I'm worried that my son will pry it loose by being rough with it.
