Questions & Answers

Is it possible to hang this clock?

I don't think this clock can be hung on the wall because it's so small.

Is it possible to move the hour hand separately to set the time for the first time?

You can't move the hour and minute hands separately because they move at the same time.

Is it possible to turn the clock backwards, or can it only go one way?

It is possible to move only the blue minute hand. It has the ability to turn both ways. The red hour hand moves in both directions with the red hour hand. It is operated from the front (the minute hand), rather than the back (the hour hand).

Is there a set of two clocks included?

There is only one clock included in the set.

It's a nice clock, but the hour hand needed to be adjusted; however, the size is ideal, and the different colored hands are useful for teaching
4/5

A detachable stand slides into a notch on the back of the camera. The hour hand was not calibrated correctly, which is why I gave it four stars. The hour hand would be slightly off the number when the minute hand was on 12. It was first noticed by me, and then by my daughter. It's a simple fix that involves loosening and adjusting the Phillips head screw on the front. Remember not to force the hour hand; instead, move the minute hand to calibrate the hour hand before tightening it. Overall, this is a fantastic product that should help students learn to read time effectively.

For teaching analog time-reading, this is a must-have tool
5/5

This is a public service announcement for anyone who needs to teach time-telling to children starting in first grade or kindergarten. When my daughter was introduced to clocks in first grade, she was able to read the basics, but she became perplexed when she came across odd times such as _: 42 or _: Now that she's in third grade, I ordered one of these, and lo and behold, the day it arrived, she had math homework that night requiring them to read a time and add 35 minutes or 22 minutes, etc. in word problems. This was extremely beneficial! It was much easier for her to understand and progress to the next level of determining times because she could see it and move it around on the clock face rather than having to figure out the math in an abstract concept. They also had to divide the hours into fractions of an hour, such as 2/3rds of an hour or 5/12ths of an hour. Again, dividing up the minutes is much easier when you have this in your hand. Another feature I like is that the hour hand moves in tandem with the minute hand, so my daughter can see when it's getting close to 12 o'clock. For example, if the time is 00, the hour hand is still technically 11: _ _ despite the fact that it is approaching 12 o'clock. That was like a lightbulb going off in my head. This is something that should be available in every classroom for the younger students. It astounds me that there are older children who are unable to read analog clocks. This is a fundamental ability that every child should master.

After just one day of practicing with this, my six-year-old has mastered analog clocks
5/5

Many reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that this clock does not allow you to move the hour hand separately from the minute hand, and that you must only move the minute hand to change the time. I'm glad the clock makes you do it because it's a great way to teach the hour hand's independent movement. If you want to set the time to 10 a. m. , for example: There's no guesswork when it comes to determining where the hour hand should be pointing in 52. It will always be a fraction of an hour away from the next hour. Yes, it's inconvenient when you need to go from 2 to 3. 00 to 8: On your way there, the hour and minute hands will always show the correct time as you move the minute hand.

I bought it to use in cognitive therapy for geriatric patients, but changing the time is a pain
3/5

I dislike the fact that I can't move the hour hand independently of the minute hand, for example, if I want to change the time from 10:10 to 10:20. 15 to 11: 15, I can't just advance the short hand; I have to go all the way around the clock with the long hand to advance an hour. This isn't so bad unless you're trying to leave, for example. from 3: 00 to 9: 00br>Aside from that, it's a solid product that does its job, which includes displaying minute markers.

Not as shown in the photos
3/5

I rarely buy things based on pictures, but I made a few assumptions after seeing a similar product that looked exactly like the main photo. My daughter's teacher had a wooden version of this clock with a blue (nub) on the minute hand that you could use to easily turn the minute hand; it was about 10 inches in diameter, and the nub made the hands easy to turn for small hands. Unfortunately, it's small and cheap, and the minute hand is difficult to turn without the nub; it's also made of plastic, so you can't just set it on a desk and move the hands; you'll have to hold it in one hand while turning it with the other. This was not a wise investment.

Throughout the year, I've purchased four of these educational clocks. I'm always returning. They're well-made and brightly colored. They're incredibly simple to clean and use. br>br>I like how the hands work together (the hour hand moves independently when the minute hand is turned). In addition, the hours and minutes are color-coded on the clock. This is advantageous because it connects to other educational resources. They have a multi-sided dice with color-coded hours and minutes that you can roll and then set the clock time with; it's visually and physically stimulating and a great way for the kids to learn time. br>br>We have been homeschooling for almost six years. I'm on my third child to use it, and I bought it so they wouldn't have to fight over supplies in class. br>br>I'm very pleased with them and would purchase a hundred more if I needed them.

It's not very sturdy and it's quite small
3/5

This clock does not appeal to me! It's flimsy and light. If you or your student want to change the time, you must be holding the clock; otherwise, it will simply slide across the table. I purchased this in the hopes of using it for both of my children; however, I doubt it will last that long. We love a lot of Learning Resources' products, but this one isn't up to par.

I have a 5-year-old daughter, and this is a fantastic way to teach her how to tell time
5/5

I'm a five-year-old who recently completed kindergarten. He took a Zoom class on telling time, but because his clock is digital, he struggled to grasp the concept. This analog clock was purchased only a couple of days ago. It was delivered on time, and although it was slightly smaller than the picture, it is an excellent teaching tool. Only the minute hand, which, like a real clock, moves the hour hand, can be moved. It was simple for him to understand that an hour has 60 minutes because the number of minutes was written next to the hour numbers. All he had to do was count in 5's. I can play a game where he has to tell me what time it is by moving the time around. It also aids his ability to relate time from analog to digital in a visual manner. This is a simple toy that has a lot of potential.
