It will be necessary to order another (better quality) set of ink. In my opinion, the color pencils in this set are very weak and barely visible on paper unless you color really hard.
The set doesn't have a cover, so it must sit upright for storage. The color pencils would be easier to access if the lid could be closed so it can be stored in a toy box or not have to be handled delicately because the color pencils just slip The pros are.

Stamps are very nice little things. Having a handle makes these fun to use and fun to stamp with. Their height is approximately 3 inches. Using a sticker around the handle will keep it from coming off. It is pretty tight on there, but may come off if it is in water. The hand stamps have been very successful in providing kids with a hand stamp. It comes with an ink that works well on paper, but the green and yellow inks are quite light if you try to stamp with them by hand. Soak it in soapy water and then scrub it well.
The book is well-made and you would expect no less from Mellisa and Doug. In the days leading up to Christmas, she did not play with it. My impression is that I enjoyed it more for her than she did Perhaps she was overwhelmed with all of the other toys she received from her own Xmas list for a child of 4 years old or maybe she is just too young for this toy.
