On mine, I used prismacolor colored pencils, which worked perfectly.
I'm not a fan of shrinky dinks, but these are a pain. br>br>Don't bother buying this to color on with colored pencils. The scratches are excessively deep and are nothing more than that. scratchings Colored pencils will only sit in these scratches, and because they are so large and spread out, they will only stick to a few of them. br>br>If you already have or plan to purchase a smooth sheet; Purchase a box of high-quality cigarettes. sanding paper, either wet or dry, grit Examine the scratched side in the light until it feels soft or smooth to the touch. If well- If defined scratches or shiny spots appear, sanding should be continued. br>If you sand them enough by hand, they'll be perfect, but plain shiny shrinky dinks are easier to sand in the first place.
Shrinky Dinks are something I've done a lot of. I ordered the Frosted Ruff N'Ready Shrinky Dinks packs because I'll be doing an activity with a variety of age groups and want to use colored pencils for the younger children and Sharpies for the older children and adults. (As a result, I also ordered five packages, because preparing that many ahead of time would be a pain. ) ) The packaging on the outside appears to be in good condition-- Ruff N'Ready is a phrase that describes a person who is rough and ready. The sheets, however, are not frosted and are instead clear. "Crystal Clear Creative Pack" is clearly stated on the directions inside the box with the sheets. " I'm not sure if this is due to a Shrinky Dinks error or something else, but I don't have time to return these and order new ones; It's simply inconvenient. (Shrinky Dinks, on the other hand, are fantastic in general. ).
Purchased as a birthday craft for my child's Animal Crossing-themed birthday party. I put it to the test tonight by printing and coloring (and shrinking) some images. It was an excellent solution. I think the ink would have set better if I had let it sit for a day or two, but there was very little smearing even after coloring right away. br>br>I DID TRY TO PRINT A FULL-COLOR IMAGE, BUT THE ENTIRE THING WAS BLURRED. When I read the tips, it said to print on the lowest setting your printer allows, but my printer is a photo printer, and the printer app wouldn't let me use the "fast/proof" setting. It's possible that this will solve the problem.
I placed an order for two packs of Shrinky Dinks from your Amazon page. I ordered the frosted white as described, but received the frosted clear instead. I'm fine with using them for another project, but I'd like to know how I can get the product I ordered, as it's exactly what I need for my project. I believe the problem is with the title of the product on Amazon's listing, which says Shrinky Dinks Ruff n' Ready Creative Pack, 10 Frosted White Sheets, Kids Arts and Crafts Activity Set, by Just Play.
I brought a pack of these with me when I went to see my grand daughters over the summer. They went crazy, we had a great time, and my daughter requested that I get them each a pack for Christmas, so I did. I'm sure they had a good time, and they even went to a slumber party with a pack. All of the girls were occupied for several hours, allowing them to use their imaginations and be as creative as possible.
The concept appears simple enough, but we can't seem to keep the edge from curling inward and ruining the design. I even tried to bake it with a heavyweight pan on top to add pressure, but the design ended up with bubbles and didn't shrink evenly. I'm not sure how else I'm going to get the perfectly shrunk versions that people keep posting pictures of:.
The child in all of us never gets bored with it. This product is fantastic; it does exactly what it says it will do years from now. And the seconds of shrinking in the oven will stay with me forever. Playing and experimenting with this game is a lot of fun.
