The old washcloth and water I use are my only tools. The connection works okay but not as well as it could but it fulfills my son's needs. I honestly can't figure out why this board is so poor quality, neither the chalkboard side nor whiteboard side erase cleanly.

The product is cheap and unusable. It is rare for me to write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn people in order that they do not make the same mistake I did, which was to purchase this product. Yesterday, my son wrote his name on the dry erase board with the marker that is included with the product. In spite of my best efforts, I could not remove his name, which left blue splotches across the board, so we are unable to write on it any longer. In both cases, we wrote with chalk on the chalkboard, and neither of us succeeded in erasing it. As a matter of fact, when I used the eraser on the chalkboard, it eroded the surface so badly that now the cardboard underneath can be seen. There are a lot of reasons why Melissa and Doug products don't live up to their brand. Having used the product for only one time, it has proven completely useless! There is no comparison between this product and what I can find from a similar one in a better quality! I am extremely disappointed, as it seems it is a waste of money, not to mention my son was excited to use it! It is safe to say I am not a satisfied customer and I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing this poor quality product to think twice.
I have never been a fan of Melissa and Doug, so I am not overly fond of this item. It is typical that the products are highly reliable and of high quality. Due to the lack of reliability of the magnet letters on this or the magnetic board itself, the magnetic board is not very useful. to find out it comes with a string so it can be hung up, however, when it is hung up every one of the magnets falls out onto the floor if you bump it. Is there any point in hanging up with this situation? There seem to be a few areas of the board that are more magnetic than others as well, which is a bit odd. The white board and marker are fine, but I'm most excited about the multiple marking options. It is important to note that this is only a so-called use factor I am not sure how it actually worked, but I believe it could have been much better if it had. The white board side of this will be used and we will probably package the letters up so they don't fall out of the board. Unless you are expecting it to do what it says it will, it's not worth the price.
My niece visited this weekend and I was desperate to provide her with a place to write and play while she was here, but when I received the product and tried to hang it I discovered that it is barely The dry erase and chalk boards were very difficult to erase on and left smears if you touched the surfaces with your finger. The board and everything on it fell off the moment you touched the edges. The quality of the stuff usually from this company is great, so I was so disappointed. My first experience with these boards has been disappointing, and I will have to look for an erase board that actually is.
I purchased this one to replace a well loved and much used Melssa and Doug dry erase/chalk board. It was not possible to remove the dry erase marks the first time we used it with an eraser, a wet towel, or The previous board I used did not have this problem. There is no magnetic field on the board. Toys from Melissa and Doug are always a hit with me. It is both their quality and their ability to keep my son entertained that keep me buying them. Having torn apart a toy from their line, this is the first time I'm not giving Since the board does not have a magnetic surface, nothing can be held The device was inoperative for my son, and he tried to play with it repeatedly. We ended up getting rid of it after 2 days and reordered a different brand on Amazon. I was much happier with the result. It's OK to buy Melissa and Doug toys again, but I will never buy another toy like this.
When shopping for a chalkboard and whiteboard combination for my daughters playroom, I was trying to incorporate the primary colors theme that I had going on. As it turns out, I discovered just that in this product, and the fact that it is created by the respected Melissa and Doug was an added bonus. I ordered two of them based on their description, since they fit my initial needs so well. It would be awkward to hang them on each side, so one side of each would be In front of the whiteboard is a chalkboard. As well as the little string handle, the hanging was made easier with the aid of the hook. At some point in the future, I hope to be able to give one to each of my daughters for As well as these boards, the markers, chalk, and erasers came with them, which made them an excellent buy. There were other reviewers who felt there should have been an area for all of these items to be stored, but for my purposes, this wasn't an issue since I used a galvanized pail to store the chalk. Overall, this was a great purchase, and I would recommend it to my friends. Please note the size as some may think they are too small, but in fact it is just the right size for what this product is intended for.
PS. Added to that was that it was also included with magnet letters, which was a very welcome addition! They were included in the package and I had originally wanted to buy them separately. Also, these are much higher quality than those plastic substitutes that only have magnets on one side. These letters are fully magnetized on one entire side. A wonderful purchase!.
The program is a great tool for the student with learning dysfunctions. It has been the white board that has been used the most. One of the problems with the numbers and letters is that there are only one of each and often times, you need two or more letters to spell Because of that, we have not used many of them. As soon as the chalk hits the blackboard, it is a mess. Our family has used it a lot for word games as it's well constructed and has a good feel. The Melissas & Co. It's the perfect thing to take with me on a 6-hour road trip with my granddaughter, who is 4 yrs old! There were over a dozen activities she could try. She spent over an hour working through it all. Negatives The eraser is falling apart and since she took the trip she has only visited twice a week, so it has completely broken! The marker tip on the whiteboard has also worn down (it comes only in So she can have lots more fun, I bought more markers and an eraser! I, as well as my wife, are very happy with the result. When she practice letters and numbers on both sides, she can quickly get rid of mistakes that she could otherwise not get rid of on paper I'll get some magnetic lower case letters for myself. )
I would have liked to have magnetic lower case letters as well. Because she has double of one letter in her name, I had her draw it since I couldn't spell it.
