Except for the Dry Erase markers that came with the board, I have not used any other markers.

The item was given to me as a gift so I'm not sure whether it is magnetic, but I'm 90 percent sure it isn't. On one side are dry erase crayons, on the other side are ace markers to be used after a few minutes.
