My grandbaby got this as a gift. I give it to my daughter-in-law because it is an excellent toy for toddlers. Using the pen, water can be filled. A mark is created when water touches the fabric surface and allows the fabric surface behind it to be seen (making the fabric appear white). When the water evaporates, the color disappears, making my daughter in law think it's amazing. The chemicals I see do not appear to be harmful. It has a lot of optical illusions.

The only downside is that it is not very easy to clean. Other than that, I easily gave this five stars. The surface has just a very small amount of grease on it and it won't wash away. Keeping the kids' hands clean would be ideal, but if it was easier to clean, I think it would be perfect. I would recommend this product nonetheless. In addition to one pen, you'll need another if you have more than one child playing.

As our daughter is having fun, I like how she won't write on the floor with the pen, since it's just water. I also appreciate the fact that even if she goes off the mat, she won't write on anything. I only have a complaint if you put too much water on it, it permanently marks the surface.
