I couldn't get it to work the same way the other contrast paints did

I couldn't find the right contrast medium ratio to give the other colors the desired translucency. Too thin had a blotchy, brush-mark-filled appearance. The color was too dark and didn't flow well. I really like the other colors so far, but I couldn't get this one to work.
