Questions & Answers
Yes, we've tried it with air-dried clay.
It washed easily off the children's hands, the surface we were painting on, and the brushes, but none got on the walls.
This isn't fingerpaint; it's a different kind of art altogether. I don't believe it can be used in that capacity. Fingerpaints are a little thicker than regular paints. This paint is extremely easy to remove.
This isn't a joke; we did it ourselves. We painted two small wooden birdhouses and hung them in the tree, but the paint washed away with each rain, and we had to take them down because they were a mess. We only paid a dollar for the birdhouses, so it was really more about having fun than having functional birdhouses. However, if you want these to last outside, I wouldn't use the washable paint.

These were not at all what I had anticipated. These were the top recommendation for "poster paints," so I was hoping that based on the reviews and description, they'd be similar to tempera/poster paints that could be used on cardboard or construction paper (as crayola describes in the listing). These, on the other hand, are simply finger paints. They don't have a nice solid/opaque consistency to them when they're applied. When used on construction paper, the end effect is washed out and splotchy, and they don't cover the paper; instead, they tint it. They could be fun to play with for a young child. My six-year-old son, on the other hand, had outgrown finger paint and was looking for something similar to what they use at school. I'll have to go with a different manufacturer.
I'm an artist, so seeing my children enjoy art makes me happy, and this set is fantastic! Clean up is a breeze, and the color is bright and opaque. I will definitely buy these again because they dry quickly.
They do, however, smell bad. These paints are great because they wash off easily from hands, clothes, walls, and carpet (yes, my toddler put them to the test), and they'd be five stars if they didn't smell so bad! By the time we finished painting, I was in excruciating pain. While we painted, I had to open the windows and air out the house (despite the cold outside). It stinks even after the paint has dried! I'm hoping our projects stop stinking in a day or two, otherwise I won't be able to keep them in the house! What a letdown!.
This paint is fantastic! It's thick enough to use with your fingers, but not so thick that you can't add water to turn it into a watercolor paint. For those photos you want to keep forever, I recommend using high-quality paper. Not only will it last longer, but the paintings will be more vibrant as well!.
This was a gift for my two-year-old son, and he absolutely adores it! Clean up is a breeze, and there are so many colors to choose from! The paints are just large enough to last a while but not so large that they can't be stored all at once. I would highly recommend this product; the only reason I gave it a four star rating is because the paint is a little thin. As a result, you can see through it while painting. However, if you're just using it for toddler finger painting, it's perfect!.
You can make a big mess and clean it up in a matter of minutes. That's a big part of summer crafting with the kids, and I wish all paints were as washable as crayola. The colors dry with some texture and are obviously dulled when dry, but for what they are, they can be quite impressive. Obviously, Crayola is a household name we kids from the 1980s and 1990s can trust! Will buy again! It was a great time!.
I must admit, I had high expectations when we purchased this paint. Crayola has a long history of producing art supplies for children, which I recall from my own childhood. Even though it has always been my first choice for my children, I was not disappointed in the least. br>br>The only disadvantage, and I'll admit it was a minor one, was the difficulty in getting the paint out of the containers. My natural instinct was to shake it like a ketchup bottle, but I was afraid of splattering paint all over the place. Because the paint is fairly thick, I shouldn't be surprised that it was difficult to work with. I eventually just swept it out of the paint jar with a paintbrush (which took a little more effort than I probably wanted to put in) and into the paint cups we had received. We loved it once the paint was out for use. br>br>I would recommend using something other than paintbrushes, but it was the best way I could think of at the time. br>br> The colors were rich and velvety to the touch. My child was enthralled by how simple they were to use and how vivid the colors were. They dried quickly and were simple to remove from any surface they came into contact with by accident. They've covered the paper in a way that we really like. We've tried a lot of kids' paints, and these are some of the best. I'll be buying these paints again without a doubt. br>br>The only drawback is that I wish this set was also available in larger containers. That would be ideal for my larger family because it would last longer, but even these small paint jars last a long time.
When my son sneezed due to the strong chemical odor, I immediately put an end to his painting. This is for kids, so I'm hoping Crayola will make odorless washable paints - This does not appear to be a secure situation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> br>It's been a few weeks, and I believe that frequent opening of containers has helped to reduce the smell of the bad chemical.
