The apron is of excellent quality, but it is intended for children. My child is now 14 years old and stands 5'9" tall, so I'm looking for a bigger one- the same level of quality
If you want to hit mid-season, this is probably the best option. shin. If it's too long, it'll be cut off. The back neck strap can be adjusted, and you can tie it off with an elastic if you need it to be shorter. This woodworking apron was a huge hit with my son. He never hurt himself with it, which is a nice heavy canvas-like material (looks like leather) with a waxy kind of cover (He'd probably kill me if I didn't use the proper woodworking terminology to describe it). Make sure you have the proper gloves and eye protection. If it's a little too big, don't worry about it. He'll be able to adjust to it as time goes on. When I got it, my son was a very small 12 year old weighing around 65 pounds, and I wish it would still fit him now that he is 6' tall. I'm still working with wood. He doesn't have an apron as nice as the one he had before.

Work apron of the highest order. He's covered everything from working in a store to assisting his wife in the kitchen. This apron is one of a kind in terms of quality and size, with a heavy waxed canvas. None of the heavy-duty companies (Carhartt/Duluth, for example) have anything comparable to this apron. He gets it filthy, stained, and greasy, but he doesn't bleed through it.
