Let's hope for the best! All the items in this one-pager have been read Since it had such good reviews, I was mentally prepared for the AP exam on rack assembly
4/5

However, I was almost disappointed that I didn't find assembling the racks particularly challenging. There are a few places where you have to put yourself in the mind of the stoned 22 year old BMXer who wrote the directions, but the parts are very clear, and seeing the pieces and seeing the pictures of how it is assembled makes it not too difficult My excitement is building as I wait to see if this thing comes crashing down in the middle of the night as others have reported, since the wooden beams do seem flimsy for what it's supposed to hold. It's amazing what a product can do!.

I recommend this very nice and functional rack without hesitation, since it is both stylish and functional
5/5

I was pleasantly surprised by this deal on a stand for storing one or two bikes in a small area without damage to the walls or floor, which looks very nice and is quite practical. Based on other reviews of this product, I was a little skeptical, but intrigued by the design, so I decided to give it a go. I must say that it lives up to my expectations, both in the way of aesthetics and value. Located right behind the apartment entry door, it provides a perfect space for two bikes and can be concealed, high visibility, and where the owners do not want as much as a drywall anchor hole marking I was pleased with the solution I came up with to a bit of a tricky challenge. As previous commenters had advised, I cranked the floor tensioners down rather hard (see note below regarding this process), and I used the two ceiling screws, which were not intended to support any weight but would be sufficient for keeping the plate from unwittingly moving under use and weather conditions. When in an area with significant temperature variances, grab a wrench to periodically check the tension on the tension screws on the floor plate to accommodate slight structural shift caused by seasonal weather changes (this may account for some of the failures I have The rack is designed to cradle the frame, not grip it. It just holds it in two points, requiring the bike to balance a little bit Due to the fact that The tubes on various bikes come in at different angles, so some creativity is called for with the hangers, but not too much. For example, a mountain bike hanging from my hook is inclined upward as it goes toward the handlebars at a height at which the bike would be at risk of sliding backward To fix this problem, you simply hook the rear hanger behind the seat post at the top of the rear triangle as shown in the picture (see above). The rear hanger on my other bike had to be raised because the tubes sloped downward. In a way, the flex a bit to help the bike self balance, and the process is intuitive because a level bike would be visually more appealing Setting the tension on the floor bolts is also somewhat of a repetitive process since tightening one bolt will relieve some pressure on the other, which then must be tightened, etc. Despite your belief that you're done, be sure to double check! It's important to take your time with this, and not attempt it at the top speed right from the start. In this way, you'll be able to gradually and evenly snug it down, and the stand will be more evenly supported by the entire structure, as it was designed to be. It's extremely secure once it's been put in place and it's strong and stable once it's done.

It doesn't take much quality assurance to make a big difference
3/5

My only reason for giving this 3 stars is because I was finally able to get it set This is subject to a few caveats, however I followed online instructions instead of the instructions included with the box. The directions that came with it were very different from the ones I found online. A hole for the screw did not exist in the piece that is supposed to connect to the top plate. The feet pieces on one of them were not completely drilled, but I had to drill the hole myself with a large drill bit in order to have them adjust for my ceiling height. It was found that one of the longer pieces was damaged As shown in the attached photo, the holes were drilled in the center. The short version I disagree with this statement. Adapt your strategy to the situation.

The restaurant recommends it with reservations
3/5

A valid complaint has been made about the instructions. The missing steps need to be filled in. I was able to do okay, although the design itself isn't too difficult. It's possible that this is falling down due to the fact that I screwed the top to the ceiling, making sure that my screws hit a joist. However, given how much this flexes, I would not trust it without hitting that joist. It would be nice to at least have full rectangular pads on both top and bottom, as opposed to just four round pads on The hooks are not to my taste. There are counterweights built into the frame to hold heavier bikes in place and they work perfectly with a heavy road bike in the rear. It is almost 50/50 due to the front shocks, however, so it doesn't work nearly as well as it should. Overall, I find it works for me, but it might not be the right solution.

As soon as I got all the proper parts, it was great
3/5

I could figure out how to put this together pretty easily, but you can't really rely on the instructions. Several important descriptions and one crucial step are left out, as well as a couple of important descriptions. This page has been updated with updated instructions. Apparently, there's a link to them in one of the other comments. Although slightly better, these were still not that In any case, anyone with even a little bit of mechanical aptitude who's bought something from Ikea should be able to figure this out )For the most part, I got it completed. For me, the most challenging thing was the cap nut that came with f**ed up threads and I could not use it. IF the program is to be completely stable, then you need TRULY EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. The response from Amazon after I asked for a replacement cap nut was as follows I was amazed at what I found - While they couldn't provide me with a bike rack, they would be able to send me a brand new one! Could you tell me how good that is? It is man. This is an absolutely awful waste of resources, if I may say so. What the heck. I only needed a single nut to get the job done! I was promptly sent a completely new rack that they gave me on their word. After I received it, I immediately began to work on it. As soon as I took out the one part I needed, I marked the bad part, and put it back in the box to be returned. What a jerk! ** One piece of advice ensure that the feet (that sit on the bottom piece of wood) are screwed all the way into the two long legs before you measure. In order to be able to wrench those feet down, you'll need all the thread available. That way, the rack can fit really tightly between the ceiling and the After screwing the last nut/bolt into place, I finished the job. Happy with my work. There is a rack to hold items Several screws are inserted into a joist in the ceiling This product appears to be quite durable. There will be a lot of shaking to bring that It has been doing a great job for us the last couple of.
