Questions & Answers

Does it mean I have to remove the other bikes to the left or right of the bike I want in the middle before I can get to it?

A bike can be removed from the middle without taking other bikes out as well.

Are the hooks strong enough to bind the spokes and damage them? If the hooks bind the spokes, what height off of the floor would be best?

Basically, the height of the bike is determined by how long it is and if you want some space below the bikes. The bike's top wheel extends a couple of inches above the bar, so it really depends on how long your bike is. The wall was hung about 7' above the ground, so there was some space below it. for the spokes, I have not noticed any damage on the spokes so far, but the rubber coating on a couple hooks is torn, so I had to make a padding myself.

Is there a way to permanently mount the hooks so that they are permanently attached to the bar with screws?

Our experience was that this was the only way we were able to easily remove and mount the bikes, because otherwise the hooks may slide around on

Can you use this on a road bike ?

I love how well it works. A sturdy wall stud must be used for mounting. I've had one for over a year now and it seems to be working fine. We keep all our bikes neatly stacked in the garage with this rack.

It takes a good idea and turns it into a great one
4/5

According to reviews, the hooks are easy to come off and the job of getting in between bikes is difficult. I was concerned about that, but nevertheless I pulled the trigger, figuring I could modify it later. In the garage I have a bunch of expensive bikes that take up a ton of room. There are very few moving parts with this system and the materials are powdered I like the coat, however the bar they give you for 6 bikes is only 51". It was clear that was not long enough so I bought a piece of 72" stainless steel from McMaster-Carr in order to make it longer Theodore G. Carr This is a 304 stainless steel rectangular tube with an outside diameter of The walls are 12" thick, the outside is 1" x 1" and the length of the walls is 6 feet. The package was delivered overnight without issue. Although stainless is not required, you can use it nonetheless. I really like the 72" because I have more room to roll and maneuver while putting and taking my bikes on and off. Works fine and there is enough space to take it off and put it back.

It took me a couple of hours to install it, so make sure you use backing board
4/5

For my 5'6" 2x6, I used that. That was lagged into 3 studs so the load is spread out. In addition, this increases the likelihood of In my opinion, you should not use this with inserts - it should be used in studs only. The stock screws are fine, I used them to attach a monkeybar to a I just noticed that this is the 6 bike rack because the 4 bike rack I read about There is no problem with the finish on the bar, but the rubber ends are damaged. If your hooks are not oriented correctly, they won't give you the not a bad product, but it is a bit pricey for what it is. It just needs to be installed correctly to work properly.

The product is excellent, but not everyone will like it
5/5

quality product the materials are excellent, as are the workmanship and design. It has received a number of negative reviews from customers, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why There is nothing wrong with that, except they can't bother to install it right or take the time to ensure that The weight of the bike holds the lip of the clamp, as well as the whole top side of the clamp tightly against the bar if it is hung correctly and with the correct distance from the wall. No matter how hard we try, we can't make a clip fall off with a bike attached. While hanging the bike, you can pop the hook off by hitting it from underneath while the bike is hanging on it. However, it will NOT pop off when the bike is in motion. The hook clamps aren't getting firmly snapped into place, at least not to the best of my knowledge. I would recommend that they use Phillips or Torx Ultimately, I think this is a fantastic storage solution that is much more affordable than the one I was going to build myself.

It is due to the lateral movement of one of the bikes after bumping into it , or if it is taken down without special care, that its mounting hook pops off
3/5

It took me only a few minutes to hang my new Monkey Bars 4 bike storage rack, and I write a detailed review. The reasons you'll see below are that a 2 Star review is only justified due to the safety and usability concerns. My concern should be clarified with the photos I have included. Possibly, some comment from the vendor will lead to a change in my review in a future Wall Mounting - Because my installation was a masonry garage mount, I overcompensated by installing four concrete anchors into the walls The two models each have a weight capacity of over 100 pounds. It took just over forty minutes for me to set the mount firmly in place with a hammer drill, a level, and lots of measuring. There is no clear indication whether upright bikes should be placed with their lower tires entirely off the ground or not, and this was a major mounting concern based on neither the location of the directions nor the directions on the web. In order to prevent long term damage, I close to mount the tires so that they are approximately 4 inches above the ground. This prevents prolonged pressure on one point of floor contact from causing permanent damage to the tire. In each bike, the lower tires are mounted to the wall rather than to the floor, which can provide some stability. The bike rack does not have much stability (Photo 1), and this is where I think it is lacking badly. A problem with these bikes is the mounting hook pops off their racks as soon as it moves in any lateral direction, such as when bumping into one or taking one down without extreme care. The photo in the second row, in which the weight of a bike acts to pull the attachment hook assembly upward and to tilt the rack out of place, can be seen in action. There is no change in the direction of the adverse impact force on the hook attachment no matter how much fiddly I turn the wheel or how small I turn the hole. Whenever a bike is loaded, this happens on each of the hooks. In my opinion, the lower lip of the hook attachment brace is too shallow in Photo 3 (Photo 3) and that is the cause of this problem. As far as I can tell, the only way that I can think of to solve this problem is to have someone weld the hooks in. The rack is mounted on concrete and I can't very well take it back and repair the wall holes now that it is mounted on masonry. Due to the fact that my children are serving in the military, I don't have to worry about the little tykes bumping into bicycles, causing the bike to tumble over onto their I have already noticed that the displaced hooks are just as prone to popping off as they used to be. My only hope is that I won't hit my car when a bike crashes onto it. It looks great, but I'd love it more if the bike attachment hooks weren't so totally dysfunctional. The only racks that will not flatten your child or be an all-purpose rack are the ones you can't recommend The use of the device is painful.

I am disappointed with this result This software still requires too many modifications and isn't as good as it should be
3/5

This bike rack is very heavy, but it cannot hold four motorcycles. There is a maximum of 3 bikes that can be accommodated by the 4 bike rack! There were a lot of modifications I had to make to the bikes as they just tilted to the side if you touched them barely. The bike hooks on the rack didn't work correctly to hold the bikes, so I had to mount wood between the rack and the wall. It also causes the hooks to not latch onto the bar when we ride our bikes. It was necessary for me to modify the stand so our bikes would stay put. I am disappointed in the overall outcome. Money is not worth it- don't waste it If you try to be creative, you'll end up spending a lot of money and time trying Something else to buy!.

There is no problem with pulling off hooks, so many bikes should fit
3/5

Purchased a bicycle rack that can hold four bikes.
- Despite the easiest installation, you should be aware of these issues In addition to others pointing out, the bracket holding the hook wraps 3/4 of the bracket It is attached to the bar by small lips made of metal that keep it in place. Because they are too small, they do not withstand the pull from the bicycles, all four of mine have ended up Please note - To fit four bikes in a trunk, you'll have to do some maneuvering For the same price as six bikes, you can get the same bar length. How to rack 6 bikes on a rack is beyond me. In terms of the hooks, there is a bit of a problem It is likely that breaker and I will have to come up with a new idea.
