After testing two different WIFI charger cams, I decided to purchase this one. They were nearly useless due to their flaws (especially the app). This one is a lot easier to use, and it works every time. However, for me, it could be a lot better:
1. The viewing angle isn't very wide; it would be better if it was.
2. The motion detection isn't particularly good. The majority of clips begin about 5 seconds after the motion began and are not recorded. In addition, even when there is significant motion, capture is frequently not triggered. You can get around this by using loop mode, but then you'll have to sort through 64GB of files each day.
3. The night vision only works for about 5 feet away from the camera, which is significantly less than previous wifi cameras. br>However, it works and is undetectable; the magnetic front plate is convenient; and there is no annoying app to deal with (which raises security concerns).
The image quality is outstanding! The fact that this camera looks so much like a charger is one of my favorite features of it. It is barely noticeable even up close. Unlike most camera chargers, which have a visible SD card slot on the back, this one is hidden beneath the front cover, near the camera lens. Two strong magnets on the sides hold the front cover in place and ensure that it stays put. br>br>Considering it's being recorded through a tinted cover, the picture quality is excellent! The most noticeable effect is that the colors appear to be slightly off as a result of this, but it isn't a major issue. Night vision, on the other hand, is incredible, and can illuminate a fairly large room in complete darkness.
My self-storage unit is in a residential building, and the building's maintenance crew has the code to my garage in case they need it. As a result, I needed a camera to record in case anything happened to my property, but since it's a storage room, it doesn't have WiFi. So I needed a camera that didn't require a battery and didn't require WiFi to record. Fortunately, I came across this no-Wifi security camera that looks identical to a charger. The design is so subtle that no one will notice it's a camera recording device; it's super easy to use and the cover is magnetic; it took me a minute to pry it open, but that's what you want with a hidden camera in case someone messes with it or checks it out. It's safe to say that having this plugged into my garage outlet gives me peace of mind.
It's a decent camera. I've been testing it for about four days and have discovered a few issues. br>1. The motion detector identifies It doesn't always come on; I walked in front of it several times in various rooms and it didn't record at all. br>2. Delay in Motion Detection A lot of the time, the Mo Det will not begin recording until after a 5 to 7 second delay. br>3. The infrared light is switched on all of the time. In IR mode, regardless of how much light is present in the room, it will record as if it were in the dark.
4. Only a small circle in the center of the frame is illuminated by the IR light. The remainder of the frame is extremely dark. br>After all of that, I just gave up on testing. However, I have not tried it in daylight. br>br>Have fun with it.
I only intend to use this camera once. Once a year, I have a problem with mice in my basement. I've discovered that putting about a teaspoon of black oil sunflower seed in a specific spot on the floor works well. When the seed is eaten, I know a mouse has entered the house, so I set up my traps, and the mouse is always caught within a day or two. If I don't do this, the mouse will build a nest in the attic and eventually come upstairs to cause serious damage. br>br>Recently, the seeds began to vanish, and the traps were no longer effective. This camera was purchased to help me figure out what I'm up against. It triggered a couple of times the first night, but the video was so bad that I couldn't use it. To assist, I decided to turn on a light the following night. It went off again, but the video wasn't any better. I'm returning it and ordering a trail camera in the hopes that it will work.
Warning: They provide free cameras and shipping in exchange for reviews. br>br>This camera is a piece of trash. The sound is not synchronized with the picture, the night vision is only three feet long, the color saturation is very poor and, worst of all, the motion detection fails to Pay a little more for a quality product.
I'll keep it if the new card works well with the camera. Let's hope the camera is in better shape than the card; I should have bought something more expensive. br>br>Edit: If I could, I would have given it a zero-star rating. I bought a replacement card after receiving a defective one. I formatted it and put it through its paces. It said I'd recorded each time (my dogs acted as models), and the playback was always black. There was plenty of light in the room.
This was purchased to assist a family member who was experiencing difficulties at her residence. The design provides a simple yet effective way to have a security camera that is not visible. The videos are of good quality, and they can be viewed in a variety of ways. We received a phone adapter, but it also includes a reader for a computer. I'm hoping that, if necessary, it will provide us with the information and images we require. We're going to get a couple for our house as well because it's peace of mind at a reasonable price.
