This was purchased as part of a Gorton's Fisherman costume, not for use as a rain suit. It worked fine for the former, but I wouldn't use it in the rain. I wore it four times in total - to a brief hangar party, a couple of hours of dancing, a lunchtime photo shoot at my office, and finally on Halloween night itself The first time I wore it, the crotch began to tear, and after the dancing, it was completely ripped out. The snaps holding both shoulder snaps ripped out the night of Halloween, so I had to borrow a stapler from the bartender to reattach them (duct tape would've worked better, assuming it sticks to this material). It's now completely ripped from stem to stern, and I'm going to toss it after I finish photographing it for this review. I only wore these for about ten hours total, most of which was spent sitting or walking around, so I wouldn't expect them to last a full day of work or any sort of physical exertion. br>br>The top appears to be more well-made (or perhaps just less-used). It's also ripping at the armpit and along one of the forearm seams (stressed). The sizing is a little on the small side - I'm 6'0" and ordered a large, and the bottoms pulled at my crotch all night (which likely contributed to the seams' early failure). br>br>Overall, this is about what I expected from a ten-minute movie. I feel like I got my money's worth out of this dollar rain suit, but that's only because I wear it for Halloween. Don't be surprised if this suit doesn't last long; perhaps it could be kept in a car or something for a while. off the light - I wouldn't rely on it to keep you dry if you're doing heavy-duty work.
The proof is in the use of it. It took over a month for this item to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. If you need something in a hurry or in an emergency, I wouldn't recommend buying it. For those reasons, place your Order well ahead of time and store it so that you can access it when needed. After a few months of using this item, we will update this review. PVC suits are always a source of concern for us because the material tends to pull away from the fasteners. Ripping occurs along the plastic welded seams as well. Allow these features to influence your decision when purchasing this or any other PVC suit.
What you pay for is exactly what you get. I was well aware of this and decided to take the risk. The jacket appears to be in decent condition. I haven't had the opportunity to put it to use. I have wranglers with more crotch room than the rain pants, but I laid them on my banister for two days because they felt like skinny jeans to me. When I tried to move them, the rubber from the pants had peeled off and was stuck to the wood. It has never been used and it has never been wet. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they did it. So it's entirely up to you whether you want to spend $12 on a light jacket. Pants, in general, are a waste of time.
Even the lightest activity will be too much for it. The product description says "light" duty, but I'm guessing they mean "you can't do anything but stand there" duty. The hook on the shoulder strap tore completely off as soon as I attached it to the pants. Heat is used to seal the connections and seams. not sewn. If you're planning on remaining completely motionless in the rain, this could come in handy. It'll tear if you don't do it. I've had more durable disposable plastic rain ponchos.
Made for a very low price! When it was attempted to be put on, both of the overall hooks ripped right off. Made in a very poor and low-cost manner. I would never recommend this to a friend! It also doesn't fit true to size! A lot less.
My canine companion had the appearance of a lobster. It had the desired effect. However, 15 minutes after putting it on, one of the shoulder straps tore off as I knelt. All it took was a little bit of pressure. Later that evening, I knelt down again, and the other shoulder strap ripped off, ripping the seat of my pants open. br>br>To summarize, the construction quality of this is abysmal. It can be worn for one day as a costume. That is all there is to it.
Material that is inexpensive. The first time I used it, it fell apart.
