Black Stallion REVCO - FN9-30C-M FN9-30C 30" 9oz. Navy FR Cotton Welding Jacket, Large (Medium)

In the shop, I pretty much do everything. CAD/3D modeling, programming and operating lasers and turret punches, machining, programming and operating CNC press breaks, shearing, tig/mig welding, and so on are just a few examples. Three months ago, I purchased this jacket. During those three months, I put it through its paces, using it all day, every day to do everything listed above and much more, including a lot of overhead galvanized mig welding. This jacket has held up surprisingly well, especially considering the price and construction (specifically, the fact that it is not made of leather and is significantly more expensive. ) It is far superior to the standard "green" welding jackets that my shop occasionally provides. (Sorry, I don't know the brand. ) While it won't be as tough as a pair of welding leathers, it certainly outperforms the competition for a cotton welding jacket. The overhead mig welding caused a lot of burn holes, and one of the cuffs has frayed, but keep in mind that I abused this jacket a lot! At least for me, a stocky/husky slightly vertically challenged guy, the fit is about what it should be based on the size. I've washed it a few times and it has shrunk slightly, but not enough to affect the fit significantly. While my first one is still functional, I have placed an order for a replacement because I believe it will need to be replaced in the next month or so, and I enjoy it. This jacket would have lasted a couple of months longer if I had done much less overhead galvanized mig welding. That's my two cents on this fantastic jacket, in any case.

This is by far the best welding jacket I've ever owned. I've worked as a welder for 20 years and now run my own mobile welding business. I've always worn leather jackets, but this is the lightest and most comfortable one I've ever worn. The material protects me just as well as any of my leather jackets, but it's only a fraction of the weight of my Dickies work shirts. It's a little scratchy at first, but after a day or two of use, it's very comfortable and keeps you much cooler than leather.

The jacket is comfortable, with the exception of a slight itch around the neck at first, but it works well and is light. I bought it for a welding class and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I wasn't going to use very often, so this was perfect. If you are a professional welder who welds on a daily basis, I don't think this is the jacket for you, but if you only weld once in a while and don't mind the occasional hot spot caused by slag that gets through the jacket, this should suffice. I'd get another, because the slag only gets through on occasion.

I got it on the 28th of January, and by the 15th of February, enough sparks had jumped on it where the sleeves button together to burn through and funnel down into the sleeve, burning up my arm. I'll upload some photos. br>In terms of fit and comfort, the overall experience was excellent. However, it is only for a few weeks. When mig mig welding is used in a medium to heavy capacity.

"Exactly what the doctor (welder) ordered," according to the Black Stallion welding shirts. They protect me well and fit me perfectly. I especially like the snaps on the end of the sleeves for tightening them around your wrists so that welding gloves can be put on more easily.

I decided to try on the shirt because the guy seemed to like it. The material is much softer and more flexible than most I've tried, and it meets and exceeds my expectations in terms of comfort and weight. Now, I'm not sure if it can withstand a splatter of high-amperage 1/8 welding rod, but most can't. I'm going to use it for smaller MIGs. Mostly TIG work.

I wanted something that was both comfortable and not too baggy. br>I was looking for something that could withstand fire. br>I was looking for something lighter. br>I was looking for a welder's coat. br>I was looking for a product that would last for a reasonable amount of time (not forever). For the big things, I have a leather coat. br>I was looking for a good deal. br>br>This coat meets all of my requirements! br>br>There isn't any nonsense. There will be no haute couture. There are no gimmicks or frills here. br>br>It's all about efficiency. It's the right size and does exactly what I need.
