This is made from a thick leather that's about 1/8" thick. This is the best welding jacket I have ever There is no doubt that it will keep you safe In my case, a large is the best size for me at 6' 1" 230 lbs. Extra large is recommended if you like your shirts really loose. There is nothing I like more than this.

I would give this a score of 4 If they actually finished curing the leather before cutting, stitching, and packing, then I would give them a 5 star review. My first observation was the excessively damp leather and the rust on the snaps on the bag as soon as I took it out of the bag. Initially, I could even feel the moisture on my skin through my clothes when I tried it on for fit. Speaking of the fit, it runs on the small side. I usually wear something between medium to large t-shirts. Even though the apron was still a little snug around the shoulders and a bit short on the arms, it seemed to be more like a loose fitting shirt. And that was before the leather dried completely. It is only when I stretch the leather as far as it will go that the shoulder and arm measurements match what is stated in the picture. If they are pressed flat, but not stretched, there is about an inch less material.
