As far as keeping dust out of my nose, it has been useful when I mow. am not sure if it can handle mold equally well, but I believe drywall dust will be fine. This information should be on the 3M website, I would think. One of the only issues I have encountered in my box is that the elastic is not very durable. I still use it, but I've switched to a different brand of mower.
You don't need to set a time for them to take effect, because it depends on many factors, including how often they're used, what type of application they're used for, how much exposure they receive, and how much filtering they're applying. The best way to calculate the longevity of a pair is to buy multiple pairs and test one pair to see how long they last before they need to be replaced.
There is only a dust particle detector here. I wouldn't recommend using it for insect control.

The images were taken in northern California in the summer of 2018. We have been living in a smokey area from local fires for many weeks now. In addition to my wife's being an RN, and me being a former firefighter and EMT with state experience, my health department recommended everyone use N95 masks when outside. The silicone half face respirator caught my attention after I did some research. As well as filters for respirators, I conducted some research. As a result of discussions with 3M Technical Services, we used these and found that they were extraordinary. These are easy to breathe through, and their effectiveness in areas where there is a lot of wildland smoke is quite impressive. I would recommend them for use in these areas. In the case of these, oxygen is not provided or toxic gases are removed. Their ability to capture tiny particles generated by the thermal process is much better than any other filter we tested.

The 3M 6000/6100/6200 respirators are compatible with this COVID mask, taken together with a 3D printed exhaust port filter (Thingiverse 4311836) that surpasses the performance of cloth masks. The N95 looks odd, but filters the air as effectively as an N95, and seals well. It seems that these filters have a greater use time than N95 masks and are priced more reasonably. The CDC and NIOSH recommend them (view their list online), but airlines won't let you fly with them if you block or filter the exhaust port. In my opinion, they are a better choice than a cloth or surgical mask because they seal.

I'm pleased I was able to locate these on a multi-page website As I needed more than one set for the job I was doing, I decided to buy a pack deal. I was able to put on my mask with ease. I will buy this product again when the need arises. It is an expensive filter in general, but it is a good deal for the money.
