No, it's not as good as N95, but it's a lot better than cloth.

These types of filters, according to everything I've read about them, aren't washable.

Is it possible to wash these?

There will be no 1X. I use one every day, and at the end of the day, I usually discard it and wash my cloth mask by hand.

Is each of these filters packaged separately?

Individually wrapped filters were not included with the filters I received.

They have an unpleasant odor to them

The filters had an unpleasant odor to me. To get rid of the smell, I aired them out for a few days. I believe the odor is due to whatever product they use to treat them. Aside from the odor, everything else appears to be in good working order.

Filters for masks that aren't made with N95

These are what I use in my mask because it doesn't have a filter air hole. They do a good job of filtering particles in the air.

There is no defense. A filter's job is to capture particles in the air it passes through. The issue with these filters is that they do not allow air to pass through. You won't be able to force very much air through if you hold it tightly against your lips (no mask). As a result, if you put one in your mask's pocket, air will have to pass around it rather than through it. It's not good enough.

It's simple to use them

I stuffed them into my face masks. The container is simple in design. The only way to find out how to clean them and what materials they're made of is to read the Amazon description. It would be useful to have a description on the box.

Masks are inconvenient to wear, and they don't help at all. The regular masks with the small circular filter on one side have proven to be the most comfortable to breathe through. You can't use it with most masks, and I'm not going to buy it again.
