This is a replacement ear piece for 3M PELTOR TEP-100 Tactical Earplugs

With the one-button system, it is easy to turn on and off, and to select high or normal volume

It is possible to operate the device continuously for up to 16 hours on a single charge when using lithium-ion batteries

A portable charging case that uses 3 batteries charged by alkaline AA batteries or by USB (Micro B) connection

There are three types of interchangeable communication ear tips designed to fit most ear canal sizes UltraFit Communication Tip (23dB), Triple C Communication Tip (27dB), and Skull Screw Communication Tip (30dB).

These tactical ear plugs are IP67 compliant and water resistant (up to one meter in water for 30 minutes) and have a portable charging station (with the cover closed).

By blocking out loud noise and amplifying softer sounds (like range commands), they are similar to electronic ear plugs. The plugs and muffs do a better job at dampening sound than some of their competitors. In cases where you require double ear protection, they also function well with deeper cup muff styles. In combination with electronic muffs, use a volume setting that is much higher than the normal volume on the plugs. Using this, you have a high level of protection while having access to all the sounds on the range.

It has been about three years since I started using them. Having the screws in their skulls makes them comfortable all day. At indoor ranges I am going to use electronic muffs instead, they work perfectly. I only had to replace one because the plastic extension that goes onto the scull screw broke. It was very difficult to reach the manufacturer by There were at least five or six different telephone calls before I was able to reach someone from 3M who could provide me with the information that the defect was rare and the warranty had expired. In addition to this replacement, I am hoping that this does not occur.

They stand up to heavy use well

I used to have my first set for a few years before the electronics started falling apart. Although I had them training constantly and sending them away on deployments and range time, all things considered, they held up well. The second set I bought just a few days ago.

Thank goodness we have a new one

I prefer the TEP 100 hearing protection, but they are small and easy to lose, especially when used at night. I've always retrieved them, but there is a chance one day I may lose them. The battery on one of my earbuds had gone bad after a half year of heavy use, it was making buzzing sounds, so I shot a Barrett. 50BMG, and now it no longer works. This is not a surprise.
I'm happy that I did not have to purchase a whole new unit as I could replace the earbud.
