Questions & Answers
Due to the various operating modes, total lumen output is unknown. br>However, I am aware that it does, in fact, adequately light the areas in which I am present, and it does so admirably.
It does not, in fact. The original halo with the red in the back is still available for purchase.
Yes, it will fit any hard hat with a full brim.
It's water-resistant and can be worn in the rain, but I wouldn't wear it to swim in.

I've always had a standard front-mounted pack light, the most recent of which was manufactured by Milwaukee. I've used a lot of them, and the majority of them have worked out well. The battery life was inconsistent, but it was generally satisfactory. br>br>However, even at low settings, this halo light produces an incredible amount of light. Best in class (in any)! Perimeter lighting is ideal for walking around jobsites that are dim or dark. You're illuminating the entire room when you're set to high. The front facing beam's lowest setting is more than sufficient for most close work. Spot light can easily illuminate areas up to 50 feet away, making it ideal for looking at areas up in bar joists or across the site. A higher setting on the perimeter can be seen for hundreds of feet. The "rotating" light is also a must-have for large outdoor sites with heavy equipment or road work. br>br>Battery life is excellent, though I did buy a few extra batteries and an auto charger to ensure that I don't run out in the middle of the day. I haven't had any issues with general use or spotlighting work areas for an 8-hour day using various levels of light as needed with only one battery installed at full charge in the morning. br>br>However, the balance is what I value the most! It's perfectly balanced with the controls in the front and the battery in the back. And because of the light weight, you won't even notice that you're wearing a fairly large light on your hard hat. That has always been a problem with helmet-mounted lights in the past, which is why I decided to try this one. It's very comfortable to wear all day in a dark building or all night in the open air! br>br>I figure I've spent a lot more money on previous lights that were uncomfortable or had poor lighting. br>br>I'll try to remember to update this review in a few months to see how it's holding up. Alternatively, if it fails, I'll provide an update as soon as possible.
This is an ideal solution for temporary illumination of a work space in low-impact, climate-controlled environments. br>Perhaps not so much for jobs that take place outside. br>In the immediate vicinity, it DOES indeed brighten up the area. It does, in fact, come with a variety of lighting options. It does exactly what it says on the tin. After confirming those points, there are a few flaws in the design for people who are exposed to the elements. The spring metal clips that "anchor" the unit to a hard hat would rust in harsher conditions, and the springloaded battery compartment cover is a nice touch, but we all know that plastic gets brittle in colder temperatures. I can see some points to the design and I am captivated by the idea of this, but there are some weak points to address before this unit becomes worthy of its current price. For now, I would suggest exploring other personal lighting options for a better price. br>However, this unit lives up to its billing and accomplishes the task at hand. br>I'll update this review monthly and possibly add a star for durability, but at this price point, it'll never get five stars in my book.
It's a nice light, but it requires a charging jack similar to that found on a cell phone. I'm going to have to remove the battery and charge it.
This 360-degree device, which has a lot of settings and is very bright, has saved my life. This is a game changer. It was well worth the money. It is rechargeable and will not fall off your hard hat. Everyone I meet on a construction site wants one, too. I'm going to get a backup battery.
I like the company that makes these halos; I've had them before. I'm just not happy with how the company listed this description and photos showing it had more than what they shipped, and when I contacted them 24 hours after receiving it, their response was basically that it was Amazon's fault, not theirs.
The previous model was purchased by my company. It was fine, but there wasn't much in the way of task lighting (for up-close work). With this model, they went above and beyond the call of duty. It has a few spotlights in the front that light up the area in front of you. By simply looking at them with the strongest setting, I can blind everyone else on my crew. A must-have for road workers, those who work in dimly lit environments, or anyone who works nights. Purchase this product if you enjoy seeing at night and must wear a hard hat.
