Unless you have extremely small hands, this wrist brace is too small to be useful. The velcro straps were difficult for me to secure because I have medium hands. The brace was snug and uncomfortable once they were fastened. The straps are at their loosest setting in one of my photos, but the brace does not go around my entire hand. br>br>This product would be suitable for children and most women, but it is simply not sized for men.
a fantastic deal For years, I've had nighttime Carpal Tunel Syndrome on one or both of my hands. Following a roller-coaster of emotions a few months ago, My CTS flared up after two days of painting a ceiling, and I had tingling in both hands all day. My CTS tingling subsided after I purchased a soft brace. An orthopedist recently recommended a stiff splint, which has proven to be very effective from day to night. My nighttime tingling has stopped, and the residual daytime tingling is diminishing. br>br>I have a wrist circumference of about 7" and a folded hand diameter of less than 9" - The fingers are extended. This splint could be worn by people with larger hands. br>br>This splint includes one metal splint and two plastic splints. There are two metal splints, according to the documentation. The metal one is curved to fit and secure the "bowl of the palm," which may be why it works so well for my CTS.
I've tried four different splints to protect my fractured hand, and this one is by far the easiest to put on over a bandage and the most comfortable while providing excellent support; the velcro flaps are also very easy to adjust in case of swelling or to remove for dressing changes. I've worn it all day and all night and have yet to find a flaw in it. I have a small hand and wrist, and the brace fits perfectly without slipping or being constrictive; I am very pleased with it and would recommend it.
I like Vive products in general (summary below). This wrist brace is incredibly comfortable to wear. Since 1999, I've alternated wearing wrist braces. I type a lot, crochet a lot, and generally put a lot of strain on my wrist. My old brace was visibly worn, so I was eager to try a new one. There were two straps on my previous brace; This one has three, which seems to be the norm these days. I must say, I miss the two straps; I feel like I'm wearing a cast. br>br>Until I find something better, this wrist brace will suffice. It had been fantastic. At only $10, it's a bargain. Both the left and right hands can benefit from it. The bottom is too big for me. As a result, I usually loosen the bottom strap a little more than the others. br>br>I liked the grey color (a nice change from black), and the way the elastic and velcro straps are finished with a rounded piece of faux leather is my favorite feature of this brace. This is brilliant (see third image). The most common issue with wrist braces is that the straps wear out, become fuzzy, or otherwise become inconvenient. This wrist brace will last a long time because of the rounded, faux leather ends. br>br>However, if you look closely at the last photo, you'll notice that the velcro straps that cover the removable splints' openings are completely square. It's beyond me why some of the velcro straps were rounded/protected, but not all of them. Things get tangled up in the sharp velcro tips. This leads me to the splints. br>br> Metal is used for the one on the bottom. Plastic is used for the top one. It sank into the back of my hand's skin, leaving a bruise, whereas every other brace I've ever worn had all-around support. Splints made of metal. Although these plastic splints are fairly sturdy, I am still able to bend my wrist backward (which I should not do!). While wearing this brace, you should be able to do the following. Finally, there is the factor of comfort: br>br> Overall, wearing this brace is fairly comfortable. The plastic splints, on the other hand, allow me to bend my wrist in ways I shouldn't, which is uncomfortable, and the splint also has some decorative stitching that leaves marks on my skin (see first two photos). To be honest, every splint I've ever owned has a strange texture on the inside; I usually get fuzzy socks, cut the ends off, and wear them inside my brace. Although it appears to be unattractive, it is extremely comfortable. Moreover, the thick neoprene fabric is hot and does not breathe well (the description claims that this warming effect is a plus). Anything that increases my body temperature is a bad thing at my age. ) Also, because of the bulkiness of the fabric, I never feel as if my wrist is immobilized, as if I could twist it into any number of painful positions while still wearing this brace. br>br>I've had it for a month and there's already some fraying near my thumb (see first photo). I really wanted to like this brace, but I can't seem to get over my dislike for it. br>br>LONG STORY SHORTbr>br>PROSbr>* Relatively comfortablebr>* Grey color a nice change from blackbr>* Very affordablebr>* works for both left and right handsbr>* straps rounded and finished with faux leather for much longer wearbr>* Removable splintsbr>br>br>CONSbr>* Three straps feels like a cast )br>* Bulkybr>* Fabric fraying after a monthbr>* Low cost means sacrificing quality and materialsbr>br>Bottom line: for $10, this thing is okay and will do the job until I can save up for something better. br>br> I hope I was of assistance!.
Most similar braces only appear to have a metal split for the underside of your wrist, and I've found that with just the metal splint, I can still move my wrist and continue to hurt it. This one has two plastic splits at the top of the wrists, which gives me a little more support. It also has the advantage of being able to be worn on either the left or right wrist.
The material is also appealing to me, as is the grey color. Let's hope they can keep it together for a long time.
I've been experiencing wrist pain as a result of a repetitive office filing task. This brace has given me some comfortable compression and support for a great price, in addition to increased rest! Stiff enough to encourage rest (with a variety of support options available via removable splints), but flexible enough to complete tasks.
I was a little disappointed when I took it out of the package because it appeared to be cheap. But I tried it on and found it to be far more comfortable than the nicer-looking one I had paid three times the price for at the drugstore. It's soft and cozy enough to wear all day or at night. I'm a female who usually wears a small/medium wrist brace, and this one fit perfectly, providing excellent support that can also be removed when you don't need it.
