For setting a stone walkway, I bought these knee pads. They did a great job of keeping me well protected when kneeling, and their construction was quite well done. My only reason for giving a four star instead of a five is that the top part of the dress feels My legs are bigger than most people's but when I wear shorts it's fine but in pants the top keeps falling off -- My overall impression of them is that I would buy them again if I were using them for what I intended. When I wear kneepads for work I usually get a year or so out of them before either the inserts are shot or the shell is cracked. I bought these to replace my old worn-out pair, and I have been wearing them since two weeks ago. It is very difficult to keep up with them in the correct position although they are comfortable. One of the velcro pieces of each kneepad has already begun to tear. Unfortunately, I think the quality of the material is poor. I think I will go back to the construction-based kneepads I was using before. They serve the intended purpose, but I think they're better than what I was using before.

I am very happy with it. Being a firefighter, I train a lot in burn houses and am on my knees all the time. For several months I have been searching for knee pads that are comfortable, do not slip or move, and don't move when I sit or stand. The crawl spaces in my attic and crawl spaces are perfect for these. I had been putting a lot of stress on my knees and these have really helped save them in the last week (they arrived on Monday). They aren't so bulky that they get in my way when belly crawling is necessary, but they are wide enough to protect my knees. This is due to their design, which allows them to stand well on joists. Having perfectly smooth surfaces would have been problematic therefore, the design works well if you balance on a 2x4 or more. In crawl spaces, there is often a vapor barrier adjacent to the flooring that conceals sharp objects, broken glass, and rocks. At this point, I am not even aware of it. I find these to be comfortable, even in shorts, and they're easy to put on and take As for durability, keep in mind that I use these for maybe 30 minutes in a crawl space and about 15 minutes in an attic, so my usage is not all day replacing tile floors, etc. If you intend to use these for that kind of ongoing use, I would say proceed with caution.
