Questions & Answers

Is there anyone out there who wears this on their left hand?

Is it possible to wear this thumb brace on both hands at the same time? It is possible to wear it on your left hand.

Should I get the small or regular size for my small hands?

Hello, I have small hands as well, slightly smaller than average, and I purchased the Regular size and am pleased with how it fits. It's a tight fit, so I recommend going with a Regular size; I hope this helps. By the way, for my hand therapy, I had one made at my OT, which you might want to consider because it's made to fit your hand in 5 minutes.

I'm not sure how you're going to clean it. What do you use if you have to make something by hand?

You can wash it in the washing machine.

Is it possible for me to play golf while wearing this brace?

This wrist splint has a thickness of about 3 mm and can be pressed into a golf glove to make it thinner. It is permissible to play golf while wearing this wrist splint on your right hand and a golf glove on your left. If you're wearing a golf glove with this wrist splint on your left hand, the glove may need to be a little bigger to accommodate the wrist splint. In addition, if you don't believe the wrist splint will affect your swing, you can wear it outside the golf glove.

An Occupational Therapist's advice on how to use this splint
5/5

Before I had surgery for arthritis at the base of my thumb, I used this splint. For De Quervain's sake, I've taken it out of the closet. Taking a look at what others have to say - Here are a few complaints ideas: br>Once you've wrapped the thumb velcro around the splint, leave it there when you take it off - Unwrap the thumb but don't let go of it. br>br>Buy a thumb spica splint liner if your thumb chafes (the wrist velcro is too wide, trim it with scissors). If you're going to wash the splint, make sure the velcro is fastened first.

There are both advantages and disadvantages
4/5

Features that are beneficial There are drawbacks. The Futuro thumb brace has been my go-to for a while, but the velcro quickly wears out. Although the velcro on this brace is thicker, I'm having trouble getting the velcro around the thumb to lay flat rather than sticking up on the end. Because of this, it is prone to getting caught on sleeves and other similar items. The thick, heavy-duty velcro around the wrist is great, but it's a little too wide; it's the same size as the part it sticks to, which causes the velcro edge to stick over the brace's bottom edge. Having said that, if this one wears out, I may purchase another. It appears to last longer than the Futuro brand, and it helps to stabilize my thumb and relieve arthritis pain. I can take it off and turn a can opener without pain after wearing it for a while, but I still have to wear it on a regular basis. Compared to the Futuro brand, it's a little easier to wash my hands with this brace, and it's not too cumbersome or hot to wear in this 100-degree heat. It does restrict my wrist's range of motion a little, but not too much. I have to adjust by extending my elbow or turning my body slightly, but this is preferable to the alternative.

It appeals to my tastes
4/5

I purchased this brace because I've had previous'skier's thumb' injuries, and the pressure on my right thumb from holding the saxophone was causing the condition to flare up again. I needed a brace that would support my thumb while allowing me to play the keys normally with the rest of my hand and fingers. This brace doesn't cover too much of my wrist or hand, and it also doesn't go all the way up my thumb (I didn't want buckles or full coverage on the thumb because it would interfere with how I hold my instrument). The removable brace insert is made of heavy plastic that is stiff but not rigid. br>br>I purchased this brace as well as a similar but less expensive brace from a different store (about $8 vs $20). Although I thought this IRUFA model was a bit expensive for what you get, the material is rugged, there is plenty of material to wrap around your wrist, and the brace insert provides good support. My one observation is that I found the thumb-rest to be a bit uncomfortable. I usually wear X-Size, so the opening is a little large. Large gloves, despite the fact that my fingers aren't particularly large. The Velcro strap, on the other hand, can be adjusted at various angles to wrap around my thumb sufficiently.

Thumb Velcro Doesn't Stay in Place
4/5

The brace appeals to me in general. I have arthritis in the base of my thumb, and the brace helps to keep it immobilized. My previous brace covered my palm, so this one allows me to move around more freely. The velcro on the thumb loosens at random times, which is a disadvantage. I read the seller's response to another review, in which he discussed horizontal vs. vertical shear. I understand the logic behind vertical shear and the like, but in the end, velcro coming loose at inconvenient times is not supposed to happen, and it degrades the product. Because I can slip my thumb in and out even when it's securely fastened, I'm considering sewing the thumb part. It's also overpriced; it should be around $10 rather than $19. br>br>Update: I misplaced mine shortly after sewing the thumb velcro, and I'm going to buy another, so I must like it. I tried a less expensive version and it came with cheap splints, so I returned it.

Perfect!
5/5

For me, the thumb split came in handy! For months, I've had pain in my thumb joint. (I was self-diagnosed with arthritis, but it wasn't severe enough to warrant a visit to the doctor. ) The RUIFA thumb stabilizer arrived a few days after I ordered it, making it difficult to do planks, yoga, and lift weights in my exercise classes, as well as a pain in daily life. It's not difficult to comprehend. I placed it on my hand and instantly felt better. Also, it is adaptable. I didn't want the splint to be completely rigid. I wore it to two of my exercise classes and did not experience any discomfort. It gave my ailing, vital thumb a much-needed rest. I can say that my thumb isn't hurting in the least while I'm typing this, and I'm not wearing the brace. This item was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much- Thank you very much!.

The thumb is not rendered immobile
3/5

The sole purpose of a thumb brace is to support the thumb. I'm holding my thumb in place to keep it from moving around. This isn't working for me. The splint is made of low-quality plastic and is far too short - The wrist wrap also does not remain motionless because it does not reach the wrist. br>br>As a result, my thumb continues to move around.

This brace is absolutely fantastic! This brace is absolutely fantastic! I bought a second one so that when the first one gets dirty, I'll have a backup
5/5

My thumb joint was in excruciating pain, and I was painting and fixing things around the house. It enabled me to complete the tasks I needed to complete while also preventing me from being awake all night in pain.
