The wrist brace is well-made and can be adjusted by bending the metal insert, but it has a significant flaw. The straps have 'rough' velcro on the edges, which is to be expected because it is designed to attach to'soft' velcro. The problem is that there is a strip of 'rough' velcro right where the straps would stick if they were tightened. The velcro on the strap is 'rough' and will not adhere to the 'rough' strip. This forces you to leave the wrist brace straps fairly loose, or stretch them past the rouch strip to attach to the soft velcro on the other side, which makes the straps too tight and uncomfortable. br>Another issue with the 'rough' velcro strip on the outside of the wrist brace is that it destroys gym shorts and blankets. The rough velcro kept catching on the blanket and yanking threads loose when I wore it to bed. After a couple of nights, a two-foot wide patch of the blanket has been destroyed. br>br>If the manufacturer is paying attention, just remove the rough velcro strip. It is unnecessary and causes problems.
This brace only has two flaws in my opinion. The first is a practical consideration. Despite the fact that my wrist size was in the middle of the range for the L/LX model I purchased, the thumb hole was too small, requiring me to use a slightly looser wrist strap adjustment to avoid painful thumb impingement. It's not quite as stable as before, but it's still useful. Second, as reported by other reviewers, one area of the brace exposes the hook side of the hook and loop material, which can snag on other types of cloth. The straps' ends have a small hook area that connects to the loop material where it lands on the brace. That isn't going to be a problem. The issue is that just outside the landing zone, there's a 3/4-inch strip of hook material that runs the length of the brace and is supposed to connect to loop material on the underside of the straps. The straps only cover a portion of the hook material, which is the part that snags things. To help hold it in place, I covered the exposed hook material with black cloth tape (I had some gaffers tape on hand) and let the straps overlap the tape by about 1/4 inch. Snagging is no longer an option. I'm not sure how long the tape will hold up, but it's inexpensive and simple to replace if it comes loose.
I've gone through a number of wrist braces. The various designs are intriguing; Some of the code was illogical (e. g. Wrap it around the velcro on the elastic after that. Undoing it proved to be a difficult task. I had one that came loose when I bent my wrist a little) This brand is easy to put on and take off and provides excellent support. I am very pleased with the fit and design.
This item does exactly what it says it will. For mild carpal tunnel, my neurologist recommended that I purchase a brace to wear while sleeping or using my laptop. The Velcro, on the other hand, adheres to everything and yanks the fabric! My sleep pants and blanket have both been ruined by it. My arm pain, on the other hand, has subsided.
The "intrusion" into my normal sleep comfort, routine, and pattern did not sit well with me the first night. however. in the morning/the next day My tingling numbness and pain were all reduced by 50%. So I continued to work on it every night, and my problems have significantly decreased every morning. At the same time, I bought "wrist guard/protectors" for my computer keyboard and mouse, and I've been using them all at the same time. For me, it's a significant difference. Do I no longer have any issues? No. But I'm in a lot less pain now than I was before I started using them. I don't wear them for more than three hours. My results are impressive despite working for only 4 hours per night. Consider turning them on for the entire night! Purchase these if you're in need of some relief. even if it is only for a short period of time.
My right wrist feels the most pain when I'm chopping weeds or planting a new plant, and this brace really helps to keep my wrist steady and provides the support I need to do what I need to do out there. There's a metal plate that can be taken out. But I keep it in there for extra support, and I highly recommend it.
It is, without a doubt, an excellent product. However, I purchased it specifically to aid in the comfortable holding of my cell phone, and it fails miserably in this regard. Unfortunately, the wrist material is too thick to comfortably hold and use the phone with one hand; however, if that wasn't the explicit reason for purchasing it, it would have been fantastic, hence the four stars. However, in this case, it simply does not work. Instead, I'm going to try to find a thinner brace, and I'm going to post this review in case anyone else is looking for something similar.
I wasn't officially diagnosed with anything, but I noticed that my left thumb hurt when I tried to open jars or hold things that required thumb strength - When I first put this on, I noticed a difference. The only problem is that it's difficult to type with it on, so I take it off when I'm going to be at the keyboard.
