There is a smooth barrel on the Stylus. On two sides of the Coast, the texture is a cross hatch pattern. It doesn't seem like there is a problem holding onto them since they are grippy enough. It has always been a goal of mine to carry a flashlight on a daily basis, but I figured it would be too bulky. My bag is now always with me and I don't have to think about it.
