The bolts that I used were my own, not those that came with them. According to the instructions in the Eljer 2502 tank to bowl assembly manual, I installed this in my 1989 Eljer 2197 toilet (made by Eljer). This seal gave a good mount on the bowl and no leaks were observed when flushing. Initially, the bolt holes in the arms on the seal did not match up with the holes in the tank bottom when I started to pull the seal over the spud nut, but as I continued to pull the seal to make sure it was fully seated, it finally lined up nicely. It was well sealed by the rubber washers. Since my old bolts were larger than the ones that came with the kit, I used them instead of the included ones, though the included ones may also have worked. As well as using my old brass washers and wingnuts to secure the bottom instead of the hex nuts included, because I wanted the hands-tight effect In my tank, I found it difficult to get the bolts in because I had a narrow clearance to the canister. Two rubber washers had to be put on the bottom of the tank and the bolt had to be placed through them. After the bolt was inserted through the tight hole in sealing arm, it had to be seated on the floor. In the end, I assembled the bowl with the tank and the seal plus rubber washers and bolts, which I then seated on the bowl and tightened down with wingnuts and washers.

My first indication of an Elger toilet being discontinued was that they had stopped making them. Also, (VERY IMPORTANT) none of the universal tank seals fit properly, I tried 3 different ones and they all leaked since they were not Elger-specific. I put this seal in and there has been no leak since. Added bonus. . . the Eljer design is one of the very best tank seal designs I have ever seen, and I'm a handyman, so I've seen a lot of tank seal designs. I believe that this seal will perform well as it is of top-notch quality.

Initially, I tried a "universal" gasket from a big box store, but it did not fit as well, and the tank was not as stable or stable to level as before. This is a classic commode, and it is nice to have the right parts for it.

My Eljer toilet from the 1990s leaks from its seal, gasket that lies between the tank and the bowl. As you may be aware, "universal" type lacks the four stabilizing feet needed for our application. This replacement fit perfectly, and it included all the extra parts to make the install seamless. The plumber installed the sink for free since I purchased the part and was already installing a new one. I'm the winner!.

Even after two attempts at installing a "universal" tank gasket/bolt kit, I could not get the tank gasket to seat on my Eljer Emblem toilet without leaking. It was easy to install, the tank sat up straight and tight, I had no leaks, and it looked great. You should not try to save a few cents if you have a toilet with the Eljer Emblem brand. In this case, buy this kit if your existing gasket looks like the one in this kit (small feet with wings).

The two support wings could have been flipped, which certainly would have been easier. A slight turn was always on my mind. It was just a matter of flipping them over. My wings could be angled to provide a more secure fit, so I opted to do that. The product is generally good and I would buy it again if the price were right.
