Can you tell me what the thread on these bolts is? In my attempt to replace a toilet, there is a cracked nylon nut, but it is not 5/16-inch in size The 24 gauge is coarser than the 5/16-inch gauge ?

What is the diameter of these?

With the 5/16 nut they come with. Measured from the edge of the threads to the edge of the threads, it is 3/8"

Can you tell me what diameter I need to drill ?

Bolts that measure 5/16" are used. As long as the bolts fit through the holes, there was no issue with them being too large for the toilet.

Surprised in a good way

Since I was experiencing corrosion problems with the previous bolts I used, I tried these nylon bolts instead. I initially felt hesitant about using nylon bolts since they aren't as strong as metal ones I used in the past. It was a real pleasure to meet you. Having tightened them, half of me expected that they would break. I don't notice any movement when tying them down, and they fit perfectly into the flange. The two of them keep their distance This is the closet bolt you need if you want a product that will not corrode.

The threads stripped before much pressure was applied to the nut

As soon as I started tightening a bolt, the threads stripped, making the bolt worthless. In order to secure the bolts I will need to take the toilet apart again.
