I'm not sure what the melting temperature of the rubber used in these clamps is, but as long as the clamp isn't mounted to the exhaust manifold or pipes, I'm not concerned. These clamps would be used anywhere under the hood and near the engine, such as on the distributor, coil, or intake manifold. On the radiator and/or transmission, as well. I wouldn't use them on an exhaust pipe clamp or an exhaust manifold bolt.
Perhaps something a little thicker would be preferable. It was used to mount a mounting plate for my cargo trunk, which weighs around 18 pounds plus the trunk's capacity of 20, for a total weight of 38 pounds. I haven't put mine to the test yet, but I'm hoping it will last. It's possible that 55 is an excessive number. Although I am not a structural engineer, I believe you will be able to find some made of thicker metal. I hope this information is useful.
The sizes refer to the outside diameter of the object you're clamping (wire, tube, or pipe).
Yes, you certainly can. It's a bit of an outlandish application for them, but it'll suffice. Home Depot, most likely, sells solid plastic clamps for this purpose. The cable clamp set on Amazon is more rugged, with rubber mounts to isolate vibration and more strength than you'll ever need for your application.

I used a few of these to attach a Top Case to my motorcycle, and they appeared to work well. If they hold up over time, only time will tell. I wish they were a little thicker, but I'm confident they'll hold up. They're stainless steel, which means they won't rust. br>br>Update: I've used the Top case a couple of times now with no issues.
Nice item to have on hand; I just used two of the larger ones to install a car attic in my 4Runner, using them as attachment points at the back where two hanger hooks were, and they fit perfectly. It's always handy to have something like this at home, not just for cable management, though that's a plus; I've used these for a variety of purposes.
This clamp set is fantastic! They work exactly as described; the only thing to keep in mind is that their diameter is equal to the total diameter of the pipe you're clamping, so if you're clamping a 1/2" pipe, the actual outer diameter will be slightly larger. This kit is well worth the money due to the variety of sizes included.
I use these for a variety of automotive needs, and I was very pleased with the quality of the steel and rubber when I purchased this set. I will buy from you again.
This item does exactly what it says on the tin. Rubber bushings are included with 52 high-quality stainless steel cable clamps. The product is packaged in a reusable plastic storage case. After the product has been consumed, a task has been assigned to it. I can't think of anything I would change about this product, as the sizes cover a wide range of options for almost any typical project.
They snugly hold electric cable and provide a cushion in the event that it is cut after prolonged use. I've used a few connectors and they're pretty quick to install. They work perfectly for cable routing on my plywood board.
This is a beautiful, high-quality set. The polished finish on the stainless steel is very nice. I'm using these on a restoration project for an antique jeep, and I value quality. In the midst of all the cheap crappy, plated junk on Amazon, it's nice to see something nice.
Excellent value for money, especially when it comes to stainless steel. The bolt holes were a good size, mostly for m6 bolts. I'd probably like more 1/2 inch or larger clamps, but I wasn't sure what size I needed for my wires, so it's due to a lack of research on my part. Then I used it to tidy up the wiring in my engine bay.
