There are also heaters that keep the temperature just above freezing and have frost protection. In my unheated bathroom, it works perfectly. DeLonghi's DeLonghi's DeLonghi's DeLon I can't recall the name of another company.
I don't see why you couldn't...I usually put it on the outside, and it works fine, but you get better heat on the outside with insulation over it...could be foam.

It's quite effective. During the winter, I keep it in my greenhouse. I was fed up with bringing plants into the house (Zone 7). I wrapped this cable around the ceramic pot to keep my rosemary alive. We have a rental home where the pipes (shark bite pipes) burst. I had no idea they could burst, but it was extremely cold in 2020. So we're going to fix the pipes and use these on that house now. When the temperature is below 50 degrees, the light will turn on. It doesn't get too hot, but it's hot enough to keep the ice at bay.
Last year, I purchased one of these for my crawl space's primary exposed water feed. as far as you recall Last year, some parts of the country experienced air temperatures that were 18 degrees below normal. I had it installed by a plumber who said he does it all the time. During the Polar Vortex, none of my pipes froze. So, just in case, I bought another one, but the first one is still working fine. It has its own thermostat and will only turn on when the temperature reaches 32 degrees. It's a solid product that you can rely on. In addition, my plumber is a wonderful individual. I can get into my crawl space, lol.
Exactly what I require Because you shouldn't layer your heat tape, longer isn't necessarily better. I needed a short heat tape for a short pipe, and this worked perfectly; however, because the pipe is PVC, the instructions recommend wrapping it in foil to better conduct the heat. So far, everything has gone well.
It performed as expected.
It's fantastic.
it was successful.
By simply running a few feet of copper cold water line above the floor, I was able to keep pipes from freezing. Thanks.
It was simple to set up and functioned properly.
