Yes, but laying tile over a wood subfloor usually necessitates the use of a second substrate. Daria heat underlayment is a good example of what I mean. That's exactly how I went about it.

Good value for money, but installation is difficult, and you end up with more wire than you think. The aluminum strips I received were not the same as the ones I received; mine only had a single over tab rather than an under tab. As you can see, my wire was a little slack. I found aluminum wire holders at Home Depot, and they worked perfectly at the ends of the loops. It worked out in the end, but it was a pain. The floor was nicely warmed up after being installed in a three-seasons room.
Everything was of the highest possible standard. I was working on a concrete surface. They didn't have a good system for fastening to the floor. Because the tile guys thought it would be a problem, they used a different system. I would use the mat system on concrete if I were to do it all over again.
All I have to do now is turn off the heat and leave. It was well worth the investment!.
My warm floors could make me happier.
