Use on plastic and metal water pipes (including inlet, drain, sewer, palm tree frost protection, and so on). Heating cable that self-regulates at an industrial level. The cable output will adjust itself according to the ambient temperature at each point along the cable. There's no need to be concerned about the possibility of overheating. More secure. Straight, spiral, or overlap can all be used. It is more useful.
The outer jacket is made of fluoropolymer (one of the most durable plastic materials). It is possible to use it underwater. Please keep the connection between the orange cold lead and the black heating cable (waterproof IP65) above the water. The waterproof IP68 standard is met by the black heating cable, which includes an end seal. JHSF1-CT cables are designed for use in both non-hazardous and hazardous environments, including those with corrosives.
Pipes with a diameter of 2 1/2" or less are protected. Insulation material that is at least 1/2 inch thick or thicker, especially for extremely cold weather, is recommended for better freeze protection. Please use 1" thick insulation material if the ambient temperature is below -20°F (-29°C). Pre-assembled, with a grounded plug and light, and no built-in thermostat, it's simple to set up and use. For pipe freeze protection, use 120 volts and 5 watts/ft at 50 degrees F.
Flat roofs, metal roofs, asphalt roofs, rubber roofs, slate roofs, stone roofs, metal roofs, ceramic roofs, composite (tar and gravel) roofs, and other types of roofs can all benefit from roof deicing. Roof deicing performance is rated at 10 W/ft at 32°F (0°C). Clips and hangers may need to be purchased separately for roof deicing applications.
Before installing the cable, it must be tested. Uncoil the cable and connect it to the heating cable. After a few minutes, you should notice a slight warmth on the heating cable.
Questions & Answers
Does "self-regulating" mean there's a thermostat that turns off the power when it gets too hot?
HEATIT JHSF1- does not have a thermostat. The output of a self-regulating heating cable adjusts automatically based on the ambient temperature at each point along the cable. The heating cable output is higher and the cable generates more heat as the temperature drops and more conductive paths in the conductive core open up. The lower the heating cable output and thus the cable generates less heat as the temperature rises and there are fewer conductive paths. Will this harm a pvc pipe that isn't filled with water and is insulated (i.e. the heat tape is sandwiched between the pipe and the pipe insulation)? Is there a chance it'll get too hot?
The cable output is close to zero when the ambient temperature is 65 degrees Celsius. Even when there is no water, there is no damage to the pvc pipe.
Could this be used to prevent the freezing of a pvc pipe filled with water? I'd like to make a freeze-dried dish. waterer for chickens that is proof ?
It's designed to be used outside in the elements, but it's not designed to be completely submerged. These devices' casings can crack over time. It's designed to go over the top of a pipe, but you can cover it with foam insulation if you prefer.
Is it possible for this heat tape to cross over itself without causing harm?

I discovered this on Amazon and placed an order for it. We wrapped it around the well tank and pipes before plugging it in the day before the storm. We stayed warm in the well house, and our well survived despite the fact that many of my neighbors' wells did not! We probably saved tens of thousands of dollars in repairs and weeks without water for ourselves and our livestock! 5 stars! I'm going to go out and buy some more just in case!.

We have a heater in the garage, and the condensation hose would freeze up and cause the heater to shut down
