Questions & Answers

What is the blade's composition?

Does the motor get in the way if you use it with a speed square or a homemade fence on the left side of the handle?

I apologize for the lateness of my response; however, I must correct a previous response. When the fat side of a speed square is placed on top of the board being cut, it does not get in the way. This allows the saw to complete its cut before the motor reaches the square's top.

Is it going to clean the kitchen?

Helps me get rid of my honey in a hurry. I'm cutting trim for new cabinets in the shop, so that's on my to-do list. The grateful spouse is scrubbing the plates and the skillet in the kitchen. So, yes?

Is it possible to change the cut depth? There was no mention of one. ?

It has a 2-inch depth that can be adjusted. 9/16 of an inch I was also surprised by how quiet this saw is.

A word about the electric brake: it is very important
5/5

First and foremost, I am pleased with the performance of my new saw. I agree with all of the remarks about the weight, features, and quality of this saw. But there's one thing I'd like to mention that caught me off guard. br>I bought this saw after borrowing a cordless DeWalt from a friend, and as soon as I got my hands on it, I knew it was the one for me. I was sold after using a circular saw with an electric brake! What a fantastic feature for a power saw that you can use with your hands. My old Porter Cable had been stolen recently, so I needed a new saw, and this was the one I wanted, but not a cordless one. I don't use a circular saw every day, let alone every month, and I'm well aware that batteries require special care, which I am not willing to provide. As a result, I placed an order for a corded saw. I immediately put it to the test for the one feature that had me so excited, but it failed miserably. I called DeWalt and was told to return it for a replacement after a discussion about the brake not working for me. My dissatisfaction was met with kindness and understanding, and I was given a replacement saw. THE RESULTS, however, ARE THE SAME. The electric brake was not functioning properly. br>At this point, I'd like to express my displeasure. My friend's cordless saw had an electric brake, and when I used it, it would stop on a dime; literally, pull the trigger to start the saw and let it go, and the blade would stop instantly. So this time, instead of calling DeWalt, I called a DeWalt service center, and it turns out that the nature of the two products makes a difference between an electric and a cordless saw. Electric saws, unlike cordless saws, cannot be designed to stop. Having said that, I apologize to the seller and Amazon for causing them to have to replace a perfectly good saw. br>I still like my new saw, but it's probably a good idea to explain the electric brake to buyers who aren't aware of it. In addition, as a side note: I believe that any circular saw, whether electric or cordless, should come with a side guide; it is only natural that this small accessory be included with any circular saw. My Grandfather had one in the old Porter Cable that I inherited from him, which he bought in the 1950s. Things, I suppose, have changed.

Dewalt, tell it like it is? This is a nicer saw package than the one described (as evidenced by the images)
5/5

Except for the following, almost everything else (power, accuracy, durability, and so on) has already been discussed. THE BAG (br>br>THE BAG (br>THE BAG (br>THE BAG (br>THE B It's a much nicer bag than most people expect, with a canvas wrapped hard metal rim around the entire top that hinges open and closed (like an old doctor medicine bag), and it's made of durable materials for the handles and such. To reduce wear and tear, it has long rubber feet on the bottom. It also has three pockets on the outside, and despite the fact that it has a bottom piece, it feels like thin cardboard, so I'll insert a piece of 1/4" x 14 into it. 5" x 8. Insert a 5" piece of soft maple into the bottom of the box and secure it to the rubber feet on the outside. The saw and canvas will never come into contact with hard ground or concrete as a result of this. Although I like the plastic tool cases, I find them to be a little frustrating at times. BLADE CRADLE - BLADE CRADLE - BLADE CRADLE - BLADE CRADLE - BLADE CRADLE A plastic blade cradle is included in the kit and can hold up to four blades. 5 blades. It has a spring clip retainer that keeps the blades in the cradle securely. When storing blades in the bag, this protects them from damaging the saw or bag. br>br>FINE TUNING AT 90 DEGREES - You can use a square to set the blade at exactly 90 degrees thanks to an adjustable allen set screw. Even though the majority of c- This feature is available on some saws, but Dewalt does not mention it anywhere except in the manual. After using the normal lever controlled bevel adjustment, this is the "stop" that brings the saw back to exactly 90°. When you first get the saw, and whenever you replace a blade, you should perform this "fine tuning. " One reviewer stated that his saw was not square, attached an image, and returned the saw after giving it a one-star rating. Clearly, "Patrick" didn't bother to read the instruction manual.
