DEWALT 20V MAX Jig Saw, Tool Only (DCS331B) , Yellow

This jigsaw is almost identical to the corded version, in my opinion. In fact, it might be a little more effective. On the 20 volt, I noticed that the blade seemed to cut straighter, but there were two major flaws. One is that the sawdust blower, which is supposed to keep the sawdust away from the blade and out of your line of sight, appears to have no effect. That's a shame, because it means you're constantly blowing on your cut line, and it could benefit from an LED shining on it, as all of the other Dewalt 20V tools appear to have LEDs. Why not give it a shot? br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After a few more months of use, I've had to reduce the rating to two stars. The lack of a powerful blower is a disaster waiting to happen. You can't make an accurate cut with a jigsaw if you can't see the line. It's a thought-provoking experience. It's perplexing to me that this flaw in the design process went unnoticed.

If the dust blower actually worked, this tool would be fantastic. As it stands, you can't see your cut lines, making the tool difficult to use. The absurdity is that there is a dust blower slider that is supposed to allow you to control the blower's strength - However, regardless of whether it is turned off or on full strength, there is no discernible effect. I tried two different jigsaws, and they both had the same problem, so it appears to be a design flaw in general. br>br>If the dust blower were serviceable, this could be a great tool, but as it stands, I'd stay away.

Blade change and setting an angle on the foot are both simple to do with this well-designed tool with plenty of power and battery life. It comes with a blower to clear sawdust from the cut, which (thank goodness) relieves me of that task. I recently completed a glass over plywood bass boat and used this saw to cut material ranging from 1/4" to 1 1/2" thick. It was a complete success.

I ordered two new units and received used products that looked terrible. br>It's a frustrating experience when you need tools to do your job and you get something you can't use after waiting for it.

The Bosch Jigsaw 1587AVS is the gold standard for jigsaws, as most woodworkers already know; a newer version is available now, but I really want a cordless. After reading reviews, I decided to stick with the DeWalt 20v line. After watching a few videos, I decided to order this; it has the same power as my plug-in and appears to work just as well (close enough). So far, I'm pleased. The blade has not come out as stated by other reviewers. The fact that it is cordless is particularly appealing to me. I work as a millwork installer and finish carpenter. I've been working on cabinets for 20 years and appreciate good tools, so I figured that being cordless would make my day a little more interesting. Let's face it, there's nothing fun about waking up at 3 a. m. to drive into the city and bust asses all day, so maybe this saw will make my day a little more interesting. Because it's cordless, it'll help me get home faster; the less work I have to do, the faster I can get home, YEAH. As time goes on, I'll make changes to this. It was on sale at the time, so I took advantage of the opportunity.

It appears that the tool has been disassembled, as the gasket/RTV glue is protruding from the motor housing. Also appears to have been used because the metal pins for the battery are all scratched up, as if it has been used several times, and the housing has scratches. I was under the impression that I was purchasing a brand-new tool. br>Because of this reason for an exchange, I returned the first one. However, when I received the second one, it appeared to be the same; these units had been disassembled and used, so I will be returning it for a full refund.

Cars and power tools have a lot in common. If you don't have power, you won't be able to be productive. When I'm working in the field, I need extension cords and electrical outlets, which is the most common reason I don't use a power tool or try a workaround. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has attempted to perform a task with the incorrect piece of equipment because obtaining power would be difficult and time-consuming. Instead of bringing an extension cord to the jobsite, I would usually try to cut something with the wrong type of saw. br>br>The DeWalt 20 V system has won me over. Their jigsaw, power saw, planer, hammer and standard drills, lights, radio, and miter saw are among the tools I use. br>br>The batteries are pricey; you'll need at least a five-amp battery to get any reasonable amount of time out of these items. Annual requires multiple batteries as well as a charger, which all add up to a higher cost. However, you'll find yourself using the tool more frequently and wondering how you ever got along without a lithium-ion saw. This jigsaw is fantastic. br>br> There is a lot of power here. Nothing is simpler than sitting at your workbench, cutting a dowel or a piece of finish wood, popping in a battery, and you're done. br>br>I haven't experienced any failures that would cause me to reconsider. OEM batteries are the only ones I buy. So far, everything is going well. br>br> This one gets a five-star rating.

Jig Saw is fantastic. My 22-year-old Craftsman corded saw was replaced by this. It's been a few weeks since I've used it. The only improvement I would make is an LED light because there is no power cord and the battery lasts a long time. The blade stays pretty straight and feels solid in my hand when cutting anything. However, it's still very nice. Dewalt - come- Add an LED to it, guys.
