There was a fall of the dust collector. It's not a power tool for art, but it's adequate for art. There is no power in this. If you apply any pressure, the rotation will slow down. To even a surface, it takes a very long time. I guess you could say this isn't a power tool. "Heavy duty" is definitely not the right word to describe it. "A side effect of the dust-catcher falling off is that it It is not suitable for indoor use. There is fine powder all over the place. The reasons why I gave this product two stars instead of one, and why I did not return it, are 1) It is good for decorative touches, weathering, etc. , which I would normally do by hand. All the power I lack actually works to my benefit in this case. Therefore, since I already have a belt sander, I decided to keep this for light-duty projects. The sand paper that comes with it is decent and there are other brands that you can get at Hardware Stores (5" with velcro) that are compatible with this sander as well. Please return Some of the stickers are sticky and won't stick).
In addition to the outstanding cleaning, we especially appreciate the little dust bag that comes with it.
I recommend it because it is of decent quality at a good price. It was delivered on time and packaged nicely. Only thing I do not like about it is that there is no handle on it. While I recognize it is called a palm sander, I feel as though it is awkward to use. It does the job, but I find myself pausing more, as I feel as if my arms are being strained. The way a palm sander works, my son tells me, is the nature of the thing. Still, if it could be held differently, I think it would be a far superior tool.
Though the switch was a bit cumbersome, the sanding pad is held in place by Velcro. The test will be how long it lasts, but the exhaust filter keeps coming off every 30 seconds so I just keep it off and use a dust mask.
I was surprised that the spindle broke after a little bit of smell use, and it should have lasted for a longer period. All of the time I see reviews that say, "for a little bit more, you get a better product. " I probably would have listened this time. My old (and what I thought was a POS) Skil sander still works while this one is broken.
For a palm sander, it's actually really heavy and it's rather powerful too! I wanted an itty bitty finger palm sander for small tasks but this thing needs two hands and it's very loud and the on/off buttons are very difficult.
So easy to use! On a desk top that was made of wood, I was able to remove existing finish and scratches. When I first thought of buying one, I was afraid of how complicated it would be to use, but I was so surprised how easy it was.
It is my first orbital sander I will never use it or purchase one again The software was extremely easy to use, and I found the quality to be excellent.
