It seems like Amazon is failing again. I would say that, from the looks of it, it was definitely used when it was
I cannot speak for the quality of the item's delivery, but I'm fed up with paying prime fees, receiving items well past the 2 day mark, and always having to return the trash. I am wasting both my time and money with it.
I have received the sander as part of a damaged and used package. When I open the package I find a machine with obvious signs of use, I connected it to check its operation and it fits without force. I received it today, Feb. The return date is March 3, 2021, so I will do it immediately.
While it is a decent sander, the filter quickly fills up. shake the filter to clean it rather, you have to open it and shake it. If the spaces between the paper baffles are clogged, you'll need to scrape them out By using a flathead screwdriver, you can free the plastic case of its holding. I used the filter about 3 months ago for a couple of hours each week, and after that time it was not seated I've got an elastic cord wrapped around the filter to hold it in place along with the body of the sander. I like it because it is lighter and more comfortable than my Dewalt ROS, but it requires more maintenance.
Woodwork is my first occupation and I needed to purchase an orbital sander because the bearings in my old model had worn out. A Bosch random orbital sander caught my eye after I read many reviews. With the Bosch sander, a set of trial sanding pads were sent within two days. At the same time as I ordered the Bosch sander, I also ordered a larger set of sanding pads from Amazon. The first thing I did after unpacking the sander was to sand something to see how effective it was. My wife found an old cutting board in the basement that she had decided could no longer be used. Using a medium-grit sanding wheel on the sander, the top and bottom of the cutting board were sanded clean and the cutting marks had been removed in less than five minutes. I was initially disappointed because I found the sanded to be heavier than my older sander, but with less vibration, it is The dust used to sand this board was contained in a canister attached to it. As a general rule, I wear a respirator when I sand, but for small projects, one could get by without one. It comes with the option of connecting the sander to a vacuum system.
Amazing results can be achieved with this sander. One of the nearby cabinet companies that was terminating its operations gave me a stack of sample pieces. A stain and finish were applied to each. This allowed me to sand the wood down to bare wood very quickly after the stain was removed. The pieces of cherry, maple, and oak were saved from a dumpster and will be used for projects to come. My recommendation for this sander would be to highly recommend it.
On the other hand, the on-line services The board filter on the sander and the vacuum have gotten so worn that they no longer fit tightly, and you can see a stream of dust coming out of the vacuum. My shop vacuum almost always goes with the shop vac so it is not a big deal for me. The plastic is obviously wearing down because the filter is removed and replaced so frequently. When I first tried to switch it on and off, it was barely possible. The slip-on design makes it very easy to put on or take off. A second problem is that it is not easy to remove the cover of the filter. My attempt to remove it broke one of the tabs since it fits so tightly. I purchased the product despite the fact that two reviewers stated that there was a vibration problem due to the favorable reviews. In short, this is the smoothest ROS I have ever encountered, and far less noisy than my older Bosch ROS (which is still performing well after having been used for many hours). It is a good filter, and attached to my shop vac, it leaves little to no dust.
There is an error in the description that you should note before making your purchase. You can then click on the "More Details" link to see the description of the ROS20 There is a version with variable speed. A single speed, single mode sander, the ROS10 comes with one setting.
The only thing I wish I could do is connect my sander to my wet/dry vac so that I can use it more easily. My belt sander does not have an opening for the filter that fits the wet/dry vacuum hose connectors like my belt sander does. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing wood refinishing tools. The store brands line fairly well with the discs that I use. Although a small filter basket can't be used unless its emptied every minute, I can deal with the dust, and I just sweep everything up with the dry vacuum afterwards. My plan is to upgrade to a more exotic model when this one for wears out, but will remain loyal to.
The best part is it outperformed sanders twice its price. I was able to sand twice as fast while still feeling no vibration in my hands. This is a great tool at a very.
