Despite not being refurbished, it gives you a nasty shock when you use it.
The black+decker dragster version was replaced by the craftsman variation. The two are very different. The power is much higher, and the removal of materials is much faster. Using 36 grit belts, I am removing paint from the surface of a wooden porch in order to stain it. The dragster took about an hour to complete the job that I did in 15 minutes with the hitachi. Due to the fact that I bought it reconditioned, the dragster is the same price as the craftsman. There is a little more weight on the motor side, but it does not seem to cause a problem. In terms of tracking, it's not a huge deal, a little turning here and there, but those are I'm in love with.
It is impossible for the sander to operate with the bag angle. This is how it feels when it hits me. The only complaint I have is that Variable speed is a huge advantage of this sander. The fact that the belt can be adjusted is one of the best things about this product. Very easy to do, should have read the instructions before starting, but it is pretty intuitive. There is plenty of power, and it seems to have a range of speeds to suit most needs.
Out of the box, this item is pristine. A positive feature is that it's well balanced and hefty, and that it removes material quickly without the need to use Changes are very easy with this belt. It is very easy to clean the dust port since it is located out of the way and does a great job of removing dust. Getting a five-year warranty on a refurbished item makes it an excellent buy.
It wasn't a problem. Sander with a lot of power. It would never be obvious that it was not straight from a factory. Weighty, but a powerful motor means that you have to trade it off for a longer battery life. The sander is exactly what I wanted.
There have been no problems with this sander when I have worked it hard. I probably owned the best one I ever had.
