I was very pleased with my purchase and the.
I never use it since it is heavier and more difficult to use than the pneumatic version. As a regular user, I am satisfied with the pneumatic version I own. If you're thinking of purchasing an electric model, I suggest you pass over it. In fact, I am finding that I am using and liking this sander more and more each day. The higher coverage is great for larger areas, and my compressor doesn't run when I use it.
This is an excellent tool! The price is a little high but it is.
A pneumatic version of the tool I used at work made a really great first impression with me, which is why I bought it from a company that sells on eBay and Amazon. It was a disappointment to receive this version. There's a $14 charge. The blade of a harbor freight angle grinder has been attached to the end of a belt sander. Even with extended reach, the pneumatic version of this product is not going to be too tiresome and should not get out of your hands. It spins fast enough to be very effective, and does not have too much torque behind it, so it is easy to use one-handed. It is impossible to keep it under control with this only being an angle grinder that does not even have any speed control other than the word 'all of it'. In addition to the chunkiness, this thing has all the characteristics of an overpriced turd. There is a great deal of shame on Dynabrade for selling such a shoddy product. Crafty by sticking a sticker proudly stating, "Made in PRC". Instead of hiding the fact that the product is made in China, just say it up front and be honest about it.
As a former owner and user of both the electric and pneumatic Dynafiles, I have found them to be You will find a variety of options when it comes to contact arms. The old electric unit I had in my home after a couple decades of light personal use was still going. **I was very disappointed that the motor in this unit was now made in China after I bought it new from Zoro Tools (Model #40610). In other words, what you are getting is a head that may be worth $100 and an angle grinder that you can pick up for $35 most anywhere. In the enclosed literature, there is only a 1-year warranty and the parts are not covered, such as bearings, brushes, gears, etc. Still, it is a useful tool and built more solidly than competing models from Harbor Freight and other stores. Yet, given that the power unit is now Chinese, it really ought to be $100 cheaper.
The electric model has been in use for about 4 years now. It is the only tool I know of which can perform the work I am doing with epoxy fiberglass, which is close work. By going into otherwise impossible places, working small radiuses, and being able to flatten and taper, I am able to do a lot of things. It is mostly 24 grit that I use. A router variable speed unit, connected between the tool and the breaker box, gives me more control while I am operating the tool or I can go to a finer grit. In my case I do not have access to air, but I do have 120 VAC, so I can work without it being uncomfortable. The swing arm joint needs to be opened and cleaned out in order to prevent dust from building up and accelerating wear. The entire process of opening, cleaning, and closing takes about five minutes. Every now and then, a small drop of oil is applied to each side of the roller tip bearing. Initially, two stick-on pads are installed on the arm. These will wear out with time and will need to be replaced. There is a lot of noise coming from this tool. "Ears" are sometimes worn by me during long sessions. It is in the perfect spot to turn it off - the power switch is in the right spot. I've been having trouble focusing on my work a lot lately. It took me a while to figure out how to hold the tool correctly to prevent In addition, I have used this tool to sharpen abused knives and utility knives as well You need to clean up the metals and the hachets. Stowage of the arm is very simple, since the arm folds back on the motor case. This is great. I love.
