Questions & Answers

Is there a replacement head for this machine and if so, what is the part number?

Although I have no idea what the product is made from, if it is made in China then you should be able to find the manufacturer Please contact us. In either case, unless you opt to buy more than one item, you will most likely find that freight will be the deciding factor. It will just be a matter of buying another complete unit if I chew the head off of mine. Thanks and cheers.

This is the second time I have asked. Why did I pay 75 dollars 2 weeks ago and now it is just 59 dollars? Thank you. ?

Customer care is the best place to contact. In general, questions posted here are about the item itself, and the answers are provided by people who have previously bought the product.

Can you tell me how fast it spins? I'm more interested in the speed than the ?

I am happy to answer any questions you may have. There is a 250 RPM on the tool.

What are the chances of these working ?

It seems like the question is a little vague, so I'll try my best. You can use any socket that's 1/4" drive for this.

Selected User Reviews For Ingersoll Rand 105-D2 1/4-Inch Air Ratchet, 1/4" Drive

The one you want isn't worth the money! The longer version is here! was looking for a 1/4" ratchet to replace my old one, I did a search on Amazon and this one showed I bought it because it seemed to be a good buy
3/5

I simply do not like the length of it at all. As an oddity, when you search Amazon for an air ratchet with a 1/4" drive, you will only find the long version.

The ideal tool for professionals in the automotive industry
5/5

Various versions of this ratchet are available, including a short one as well as Below are photos of the two different versions, as well as a photo of them with a 3/8 air ratchet for 105- This is a review for the long one Part number 105-b is also available, which is the stubby version. For some reason, the image depicts the L2 version of the D2 (which is in fact the D2). The Amazon comparison tool and Google Analytics tool are very similar and have been poorly differentiated by the retailer. When I searched for 1/4" drive air ratchets on Amazon, I never found the long L2 version, which led me to waste my money on the stubby D2 version. Whether the stubby D2 version has uses I am not familiar with however for an automotive technician, the long L2 version is definitely superior. My favorite 1/4" drive ratchet is one made by Snap-On that I prefer over this L2 version Investing in one's own is a nice touch, however, it's expensive and is known for bending, breaking, or wearing out too quickly. A 105-series Ingersoll Rand All metal, heavy, heaviest of the heavy-duty vehicles Tools that are used on a daily basis. I found the torque level to have just the right amount to break loose 6mm fasteners, not too much when tightening, yet enough to remove them. You're going to make real money from this You won't have to break the bank to make it.

It is a great ratchet that works well
5/5

Now that I have been using it several times a day for several weeks, I am really glad I purchased There is a huge difference between a shorter and a longer reach. When I first began using the device, I had no idea how much of a difference it would make. Using the new ratchet, I can get at clamp head bolts and pulley bolts faster than using my old one.

Buy it! It's done a great job, and has proven to be as reliable as one would expect from Ingersoll.

For the price, this is a great value! I'm very impressed with this! My garage is just a place where I do DIY mechanic work, but sometimes I feel like I'm running a shop since all of my friends' cars come into and out of there
5/5

Buying this air ratchet is one of the best tool purchases I've made in a long time. Small(ish) head-compact design. It has a small size, although it is not as small as a regular mechanical ratchet, but it is perfect for places where you are not able to get more than one or two clicks from The power is plenty - Basically, anything that you would normally put a 1/4" drive on will be broken loose by this thing. Low air consumption. I have a portable, 200psi, 5 cfm, contractor-style, 3 gallon air compressor, and it keeps up with this just fine, even with continuous operation. *select the direction for the trip- With my other ratchets, I am picky about the direction selector, and I could not be happier with this one. It is visual and you can always tell which direction the ratchet Furthermore, it is pretty much impossible to mistakenly switch it. The safety stop is not present. This tool is easier to operate when there is no safety stop on the trigger, as strange as that may sound. It is identical to the 3/8" drive version that I also own and could tell you about it the same way, except the power it has is about double that of this one.

This replacement was for my old Since I've been a mechanic for more than 14 years, I know a lot about the field
5/5

When I first got into mechanic school, I bought a IR 103. I have had many air tools over the years, but this was my favorite. I had to get a replacement anvil when I snapped the one on it since the 103 was no longer As of the 105th day of the year A new version of D2 appears to be available. Now that I have this for a few months, I'm confident that it will be able to sustain the years of work that lies ahead. Having this in a confined space, such as an engine bay, is a blessing. Bolts & nuts for larger bolts & nuts You can take nuts and break them free with hand tools then use this handy tool to spin them on or off quickly. Whether you are a professional or you just like to DIY this is a great addition to any tool collection.

My experience with the ratchet was great, but I encountered one issue
4/5

Strong, very light, slender, smooth, and quite I found this to be exceptionally quiet compared to my last cheap air ratchet. One thing holding it back from 5 stars is the annoying trigger jump that sometimes happens when you squeeze the trigger too slowly. It seems like there is a small pocket of air that rushes through before the head blips forward when you squeeze hard enough to start any The blip is not a big issue when I'm grabbing and going in day-to-day work, but when I'm trying to slowly spin the head, it is very noticeable. It could be bad design, or the one I have may be defective. Yet the pros outweigh the cons for me, and I'm in love with.

Air ratchets like this one are disappointing to me
3/5

In my capacity as an automotive technician, I have an extensive collection of air tools, most of them Ingersoll Rand products. This air ratchet disappoints me. My old 103A works great even after I beat the snot out of it. As a test, I bought this, and it operated for 8 months. The head finally broke, but the rest of the machine was still functional. To use this tool effectively, I oiled it every day. It was good at producing an output when it did work it wasn't so powerful that it would break bolts, but it was solid. If you are thinking of buying this air ratchet, I caution you. These newer models just don't seem to be as durable as.

The product is supreme quality
5/5

My husband had one of these for years and then stopped using it, after he finally quit, he wanted another on as he finds it to be the best, both for price and durability. He relies on it quite a bit as a mechanic.
