Yes, it's extremely effective.

Is it possible to use this to assemble permafrost cabinets by shooting it in corners?

Permafrost is something I'm not familiar with, but it's used in the construction of a variety of cabinetry.

In the end cap, what size male fitting should be used?

I'm not sure, but I believe it's the larger of the two standard sizes available at Home Depot.

Staples is a super strong joint. Just make sure the airflow into the stapler is controlled. The staple will be "proud" of joint if the air pressure is too low. If the air pressure is too high, the staple will be buried in the joint, causing the wood to split. Lubricate frequently and use dry air (no moisture). This stapler is one of my favorites. I hope this review is beneficial to someone.
