Questions & Answers

Is it possible to staple ethernet cat6 using this method?

No way, not only would it be too narrow, but it would also most likely multiple the cable. I staple everything from RG6 cable to ethernet cable with a T25 Arrow stapler. It works great; you just need to use different length staples for different jobs.

Is there a maximum staple length available?

According to the instruction manual, "1/2 in - a half-inch (13mm) 38mm). Takes a crown staple that is narrow - 6 1/4 in. 4mm). The variable depth selection does exactly what it says on the tin. Overall, this stapler appears to be functional.

Is it possible to use this to attach fence wire to a wooden post with staples?

Without a doubt. This stapler can perform all of the functions of a pneumatic stapler. This stapler will work if a pneumatic stapler can be used to staple fence wire in your situation.

Selected User Reviews For PORTER-CABLE 20V MAX Crown Stapler, Narrow, 18GA, Tool Only (PCC791B)

This is a great tool! In the case of specific projects
4/5

"Not a replacement for air, but nice to be free of hoses," as one reviewer put it, "but not a replacement for air. " br>br>This morning, I got my Porter Cable stapler. I went to lunch after putting the battery on the charger. After that, I used it. I needed to replace a few sections of a 2' tall lattice fence (Chihuahuas don't require much fencing, and 2' lattice is easier/cheaper to replace If (WHEN) someone drives through it in the winter). The process of constructing the fence is fairly straightforward. A 4'x 8' lattice panel should be ripped into two 2' x 8' pieces. The loose ends where you ripped should be stable. After that, staple a 1" x 2" frame around the front and back of the lattice, and then staple the resulting panel to 4" x 4" posts that have already been set in the ground. The slight pause between pulling the trigger and the staple firing was the first thing I noticed. It's not a major issue, but it does stand out. In fact, it may be preferable for me. Instead of going down the line and bam, bam, bam like an air stapler, I use the slight delay to precisely position where I want the staple to go. As a result, the whole thing takes a little longer. Go air if you're working in a shop or garage where a compressor is within a short hose reach. This battery stapler is the way to go if you only have a few staples to shoot or if you need to drag a 100' hose around the truck, over the bushes, across the yard, or through the wife's kitchen to get to the job site. br>br>I noticed a couple of complaints about jams in the reviews. This happened to me on a couple of occasions. In almost every case, I can blame it on user error (my own). To begin with, a jam with this stapler does not resemble the gnarled mess that can occur with an air gun. When the staple does not clear out of the gun and into the wood, it is called a "jam. " I was almost always rushing when this happened to me. Yes, there is a small delay between pressing the trigger and the staple firing. However, you must wait a second or two between firing one staple and triggering another. I'm guessing something needs to be reset on the internals. br>br>Today, I used a couple hundred staples on my project. The staple lengths ranged from 1/2" to 1 1/4" to 1 1/2". I only had one staple that fired from the gun and was not flush with the board surface, regardless of length (yeah, I was rushing again). I probably moved the gun too quickly away from the wood). Overall, I enjoy this tool. br>br> It has advantages and disadvantages, just like any other tool. Simply use it for its intended purpose (such as when you're too lazy to drag out the air hose). Even a metric crescent wrench isn't ideal for all jobs. Last but not least, do not discard this tool. Because the housing is made entirely of plastic, it will not bounce as much as one made of metal. I was unconcerned about my weight. I am 68 years old and have never had a problem with my weight. Finally, the tool is a little top heavy when using the standard battery. When not in use, place it on its side to avoid knocking it over (remember the plastic housing?).

It's quite effective
4/5

I've used it with narrow crown staples of 1, 1 1/8, 1 1/4, 1 3/8, and 1 1/2 lengths, and it handled them all well. It is heavier and cycles slower than a pneumatic staple gun, so if you are doing a job with thousands of staples, a pneumatic staple gun will be faster, but this tool does a great job with a few hundred staples. According to the packaging, the battery has a capacity of 400 mAh. I was expecting 500 staples, but I was able to get a lot more staples on a single charge. Because the battery charges quickly, you can get a lot done. There were a few traffic jams, but they weren't too bad. No more than my pneumatic staple guns. The only thing I didn't like about the purchase was that the price dropped 10% just a couple days after my purchase.

It's just like the rest of the family
5/5

I have a Porter that is similar to yours. Tools such as brad and finish nailers that are cordless (and airless). All of their air-conditioning equipment is also mine. equivalents in terms of power If I have a big job to do, those tools' light weight, speed, and other features are invaluable. br>However, in the real world, many of my jobs are smaller, and it's great to be able to grab a tool and use it right away, without having to lug around an air compressor, charge it up, connect the hoses, and so on. br>br> It's just that I wish P- C created a pin nailer that was cordless.

Should've read the reviews, because that star stands for - Should've read the reviews first; with a fully charged 4Ah battery, this tool might be able to drive one 1-ton vehicle
3/5

When you pull down the clear jam lever, it usually thinks it's going to staple, but it doesn't, and the LEDs just blink until the battery is removed. I bought it in December with the intention of erecting a fence in the spring, but I didn't test it when I received it, and now that the return period has expired, I'm going to disassemble it and see if I can fix it myself. I'm done with Black and Decker/Porter Cable/Dewalt products; they're all junk; you'd be better off buying harbor freight and knowing you're getting a bargain that won't last long.

Excellent product! What a fantastic nailer you've got there! I used to have a cheap one that didn't last long enough for a box of nails to be consumed
5/5

Because this one has adjustable force, it was able to drive the nail in just beneath the surface - That's precisely what I was looking for. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be If you purchase the "machine only" option, you will not receive a battery or charger. That was something I didn't realize until I got it.
NOTE: This is the pin-up girl. nail gun. There's another one that looks the same, but it's made with staples. This is stated in the listings, but I was unaware of it because I had previously ordered the incorrect one.

This workhorse is dependable
5/5

I've only included a few- It's only had a few hundred staples through it so far, but it's been perfect (no seriously, perfect). So far, there hasn't been a single jam or missed shot. br>Recent changes: Months later, after completing some real projects, it's still going strong. The following are the only negative aspects: It's large and lacks a high-speed "bump" mode. But I was aware of this when I received it, and I don't require it. Even without it, it's quite quick. Every 1 minute, I can do a staple. Without exerting excessive effort, 2 seconds.

The stapler isn't very strong
3/5

1 will not be fully stapled by the stapler. Even with a fully charged battery, 1/4 staples into wood. For me, this renders the tool useless because I need to inject 1 1/4 inch staples.

I've had two of these, and both of them are defective; they jam, and even after clearing the jamb, they don't work
3/5

This is the second one Porter Cavle sent me, and it jammed after a few staples and no longer works. I haven't had the opportunity to return it because I haven't had the opportunity to do so.
