You're requesting information on two companies that both produce high-quality air gun products. The PC MS 200 is one of my personal computers, and it performs admirably. I also have other pc air nail guns and Bostitch air guns, both of which have proven their worth numerous times. With the same level of quality and features, it'll almost certainly be a tie. You will not make a mistake in either case. If I had to choose between a Harbor Freight and a PC, I would choose the PC, but you don't. I'd choose the Bostitch and save the money for staples.
Chris is absolutely correct about the thumb screw depth adjustment; you may also need to adjust your compressor's air pressure slightly. On the gauge, I usually keep it between 90 and 95 pounds. I hope this has been of assistance. Jimmie wishes you a successful stapling job.
if necessary, oil
Yes, when combined with the Porter Cable 60040 Vinyl Siding Attachment (sold separately), it can be used to install vinyl siding.

This stapler has made my life so much easier. It's simple to use on the air; I've only used about a quarter of a teaspoon. Despite the fact that there were 4000 staples, there was never a jam. Even when the staple smashed into screwheads within the wood, it simply smashed the staple on out and did not jam. The depth adjustment can be done without using any tools at all. as well as air conditioning I've never had to use the toolless unjamming method because the direction is excellent. It's fantastic how easy (and toolless) it is to switch from single trigger pull to bump staple'n. It's a well-made tool with a solid foundation. Also, the cheapest stapler capable of handling 2 inch staples. With everything taken into account, I don't see how you could get a better or more affordable 1 to 2 inch stapler.
Installing heavy hardware cloth with staples is a breeze with this tool. When compared to hand-nailing staples, this is a huge time saver.
Installing vinyl siding with this method is the most up-to-date technology. It's ready to go now that I've set my compressor to 60 psig and attached the nose spacer. This gun has a quick learning curve. I simply place the nose on top of the siding ridge above the slot and fire; the staples are placed exactly where I want them. This gun saves a lot of time and is THE way to go because there is plenty of movement for the panel to expand and contract. Don't think twice about getting one. You'll be glad you took the time to do so.
I dismantled, cleaned, and oiled the engine, but the misfiring only worsened. br>In the past, I've only purchased Porter Cable-- Their quality control appears to have deteriorated significantly.
In comparison to my Porter-type personality, I'm a bit of a This thing is a sledge hammer with a 1/4" narrow crown cable. Adjustment and reduced air pressure, on the other hand, work well. As a test, a single 7/16" medium crown staple through two 3/4" pieces of wood was so secure that I couldn't pull the pieces apart. br>br>7/16" medium crown staples aren't common at big box stores, but they're easy to find online; I'd recommend ordering staples at the same time as the stapler. br>br>I can't say how difficult or simple it is to clear a jam because I haven't had one yet after over 1000 staples. At this rate, even if clearing it turns out to be a pain, I'll be happy to put up with it.
There's a storage case included in the package. It's simple to load, and it shoots standard staple sizes. We use two of these guns on a regular basis and have had no issues with them except for the occasional occisioanl vapor lock, which is easily remedied by temporarily removing the air line. If you're looking for a good gun at a reasonable price, the Porter Cable is a good choice.
This 7/16 crown stapler is what I use to put bee boxes and frames together. When I first got the crown stapler, it worked perfectly for the first 100 staples before jamming. I couldn't fix it, whether it was due to a gun malfunction or a user error. When I contacted Porter Cable, they were extremely pleasant to work with and eager to assist me. They sent me a pre-paid shipping label so I could send the gun away to be fixed, and it was returned to me within 3 or 4 days, free of charge. I fixed the problem, and I've put about 600-700 miles on the car since then. It easily took 800 staples to get through it. I also make it a point to include 2- Before each use, add 3 drops of pneumatic gun oil to the air insert. Great gun at a great price for a name brand company.
This tool, along with the Porter-Case, was purchased together. The Cable 60040 vinyl siding attachment saved me a lot of time.
