After two weeks, I had to remove mine. It only took three months and it was a huge success.

Yes, 12 vlt. Stay away from heavier gauge staples because they have a hard time heating up enough to bite; Matco's thinner staples work much better and seem to last just as long. This tool comes in handy when it comes to fixing car bumpers.

This is a very simple to use and repair technique; simply melt the staple into the plastic until the horizontal part has vanished, then cut the vertical pieces of the staple off with some diagonal cutters. The battery lasts a long time and can be left charged in your toolbox for months at a time, but it still charges quickly. The unit is small and light, but the pivoting head makes in-car repairs simple, though I always remove the piece to ensure it is properly repaired. I was able to salvage a now-discontinued radiator shroud from a vintage car after a large chunk of it broke off during removal. I had one of the techs hold the two pieces together while I stitched from the backside, so the seam where it broke off is barely visible. When I pull this tool out of my toolbox, I'm always someone's hero because that one time was a repair that saved the shop more than what I paid for it.
This is an excellent tool. We have a collision center where we repair a lot of plastic bumpers for cars and trucks. This is a far superior alternative to the old-fashioned plastic welder. The staples keep the damage from getting worse while it's being refinished, and we like how quick and easy it is to refinish it.
This is an excellent tool for repairing plastic. Repairing rather than replacing many parts is a viable option. I was taken aback by the strength of the completed repair. In comparison to most people, I would suggest using more Staples closer together in the repair.
