Hello! It's air-powered with a 1/4-hundredth-hundredth-hund Plug from the inch series.
100 psi
I've never had a problem with mine, and I've installed a lot of ceiling tile (50 x 50 fellowship hall) and it's always performed admirably. When the safety trigger is turned upside down, it's a farce. If yours isn't working, try a different brand of staples or see if there's something wrong with it.
The BTFP71875 is a stapler with a 3/8" crown.

It didn't work right out of the box (I heard air flow when I pressed the trigger, but the piston/driver didn't cycle)- To troubleshoot, I disassembled the machine and discovered that the inlet nipple for the single-cylinder engine was broken. A pneumatic cylinder that was in use was snapped off. The cylinder's entire body is made of plastic, and the inlet nipple/hose barb is molded in. Where they join, there may be a 16th inch of plastic around the circumference. I'm not sure who thought that would be enough material for a cyclically pressurized part, but they're insane. br>Because returns are a pain for me, and a replacement cylinder (part number 9R205236) is only about $10, I ordered one. I'm going to add a little more support. Let's install it with kid gloves and see how it goes. It's a shame, because the tool is small and light, and I'm sure it would be useful if it worked, which is why I'm attempting to save it rather than discarding it. I'll also remove the ineffective safety, which I can already see as a thorn in my side.
TL; Unless you're looking for a project, stay away from this one.
The stapler does its job admirably. Regrettably, brads should be avoided at all costs. br>br>1) Brads are impossible to load because they must be carefully balanced on the left side of the tool and the spring must be slid closed. 2) Assuming the brads are loaded properly, the head leaves a staple mark indent with each brad. It's simply not designed to hold brads. Please don't call it a brad nailer, Bostich. Instead, invest in a special brad nailer.
Insulation and plastic vapor barrier are stapled together with this tool. Hands down, it's better than using staplers. It is not very long-lasting. I'm on my third one because they start mis-informing me after a while. I usually just pick up a new one and keep going because they aren't that expensive.
The safety trigger becomes grating after a while and pinches you.
For upholstery, it's ideal. The pressure on the compressor's regulator determines how deep the staple goes. The stapler does not have any adjustments. I saw the same stapler for 35% more money in my local big box hardware store for 35% more money in my local big box hardware store for 35% more money in my local hardware% The on; The lack of a clearly defined (or easily defined) location where the staple will be placed is a disadvantage. It's easier to see where a staple will end up with smaller tipped units. This one takes some getting used to, but it's not a big deal for me.
This was a fantastic acquisition. My small, weak little old lady hands can't handle the manual stapler my big, strong husband uses, so I got it for a project that required a lot of stapling. However, now that we have it, he finds it to be useful as well. Stapling is a breeze with this tool. I don't have much experience with pneumatic staplers, so I'm not sure what would be better. But, in my opinion, it isn't necessary. It's well-built, well-designed, simple to operate, dependable, and attractive.
I used it to replace the canvas in my old VW pop top camper. It was simple to operate and had enough power to drive 1/2 T50 staples into my hardwood oak pop top frame through the tack strip and canvas. Jams or misfires were not an issue for me. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. In the future, the brad nailer feature will come in handy.
When all you do is build coops and such, this is a fantastic feature to have, but the safety man, it could have been designed a lot better. Aside from that, I would recommend it to any man or woman.
