You can set the flex of the tool's adjustable foot so you can compensate for the exact height of the floors. I have installed 3500 I'm currently installing 4" ipe in my house, and I found this nailer to be ideal. For those of you new to ipe, it's so hard that you can't use a face nail on it or even an 18 gauge pneumatic nailer. It's not possible to nail close to the walls with this nailer, so in the first and last three courses I had to use subfloor adhesive. On the other hand, this nailer worked flawlessly for the rest of the project. There is only one complaint I have, the hammer that comes with the set is a little weak, so I use a 3 pound dead blow hammer.
